Song Parodies -> Fay Wray Held By King Kong
| Original Song Title: | "Maybe After He's Gone" |
| Original Performer: | The Zombies |
| Parody Song Title: | "Fay Wray Held By King Kong" |
| Parody Written by: | Paul Robinson |
This one's about the Original "King Kong" movie...from 1933. If you have ever enjoyed any monster movie you should give a tip of your cap to the Original "Kong" film. It really was a remarkable film for it's time and while the "Special Effects" may seem primitive compared to today's movies if you sit down and actually watch this movie I think the story will draw you in. Of course, I've been wrong before...once or twice, maybe...I think. Anyway, hope you like my piece. I see nobody has used this OS before on "Amiright"...well, now someone has...
[instrumental intro]
Was this real big monkey
King Kong; who lusted for Fay Wray
'bout the plight that did befall him
when he climbed the Empire State
White men captured King Kong
put on boat
took him away
Took him back to New York
all in chains
to put on display
King Kong did not like this place
The crowds, the jeers; drove him insane
that big ape longed to be free again
and then he saw Fay Wray
Fay Wray plucked by King Kong
freaked her out
then she did faint
That ape was so damn strong
in his hands
she looked like a grape
Man, that ape
sure held her tight
Tall building he did climb
and Fay Wray screamed
"Please help me out
come on, guys, I'm in a bind"
[brief instrumental break]
No one did know
Kong loved her so
up the flights he held that lady
then he did see
fighter planes
This sure angered King Kong
He struck back
took down some planes
Wondered what he did wrong
couldn't talk
he could not explain
Could not hold out for long
he got shot
that made him enraged
Though that ape was real strong
mattered not
he staggered in pain
Was the end of King Kong
deck was stacked
the fall smushed his brains
that's the end of this song
all his love
it was all in vain...

i like the way you monkeyed around with this
Thanks, alvin. Always liked that old movie.
The '33 monkey flick is a classic, the '76 remake is a turkey, the recent remake is perhaps a shade better than the '76 gobbler. The parody's good, though.
JB, agree on your '33 & '76 film assessments. Didn't see the recent remake, so I can't say. Boy, that '76 one was an absolute bomb...When I managed the Hollywood Supply Sgt a few years later we picked up a batch of plastic "King Kong" promotional cups that were apparently supposed to be given out or sold. They were really crappy cups, too...the plastic had no flexibility so they cracked really easily - either just from being held or when they aged a little bit.
Aww...poor love-sick monkey died for love....*snif* I like it, Paul!! 5's
Very good parody. Loved the original '33 movie. Even the 77 remake had it's campy moments. But I hated the Peter Jackson re-re-make! And with Jack Black?! Ugh!!! Anyway, here's 555 stories.
DKTOS and couldn't find a download, Paul...but as a huge Kong fan (except for the 70s remake), I was enamored with this. I'll trust your pacing for a 555
I remember Donkey Kong as well as King Kong. Anyway good job as usual. 555
Three bananas and three 5's
Very good job, here
Adagio, Yoidy, Kristof, Jason, carol & AFW & whoever didn't like this but took time out from their busy day to "diss" this - Thanks!
Diss this? I don't think so. seemed like everyone liked it. I said "I like it, Paul!! 5's"
Well, Pat, someone laid a brace of "uno's" on me...I count that as sort of a "diss", although it's more likely personal than about my piece. It's not as though there is any political reference in this. Not losing any sleep over it.
Some people rate ones based on past songs. . .I've noticed that already in my short time here, I myself liked it-555
Below Ave. Dave - Thanks! I think the ones are "retaliation" for my politically oriented pieces. I think it's kind of rank and more or less a petty thing to do, but some folks are just that way. Life goes on, I write political pieces when the mood and OS material suit me.
