Song Parodies -> Hard to Evict Emily
| Original Song Title: | "A Rose For Emily" |
| Original Performer: | The Zombies |
| Parody Song Title: | "Hard to Evict Emily" |
| Parody Written by: | Paul Robinson |
I recently managed to get the Zombies great album 'Odessey (yes, the Zombies spelled it that way) & The Oracle" on CD...I love this album and hadn't heard many of the songs in many, many moons. Anyway, I've been writing parodies to it all week. Hope you like it, and maybe posting these pieces will encourage one of two of you to check out this really special album by the Zombies.
[very brief piano instrumental intro]
A bummer; it pains this lass
No lie; she has no cash
can't buy no "bling";
that bothers her, you see
No watches from Rolex, no
"Discovery" said so
Received eviction notice
days left; three
"that's really close"
thinks Emily
Emily
then says, "Jeez
I don't know what to do"
she cusses and she swears
she's really screwed
She's hosed; that is sure plain now
of this there is no doubt
She calls her landlord hoping
to explain
Sadly appeals, "Please, guy
don't throw me out, be nice"
The assh*le chuckles, then loudly does say
"you've got but three more days
tales of woe
mean squat to me"
Angered; she
says "bite me
don't f*ck with me now, dude"
He said, "Bitch, I'm not scared
what can you do?"
She pauses and then says, "Well
I'll send your ass to Hell"
Was not what he expected her to say
He said, "My dear, calm down
problems can be worked out
It's really not that hard; you can remain
just promise you'll behave
and when you can
send rent to me...:
[brief piano solo out to end]

Thanks, alvin ~ ~ ~
A complete turn around from the sad words of the song, but I like how you can make a parody that way. 5's
An OS I do know, and this was excellent...with just a dash of bittersweet to add flavour. 555
Very good Paul! And a very happy Xmas to you as well.
