The Lyrics

Daddytobe has long-range plans for his newborn....
I would like to have my big boy
Grow up to six feet tall
He'll kill them all at Harvard
Not play with Barbie dolls
And no one will chastise him
Will catch him if he falls
And I'll have my own kid
Teach me to play baseball!

He knows all the virtues
Knows how to fix machines
He won't play in dumpsters
Always comes home clean
Won't be seen in detention
Won't sleep in study hall
Yes, that amazing little kid
He won't slack off at all!

He's like a blizzard
But folks, here is a twist
My little whizzer
Won't get his parents pissed!

(Mommytobe:) How can you say he'll do that?
(Daddytobe:) I don't know, just keep good attitude!

And he'll be good at fractions
Uncover biology cells
Or maybe have a passion
For inventing new hair gels
Yes, it will happen some day
One always starts out small
Yeah, he won't screw up like I did
My kid's the best of all!

I know I was a nerdy little twit
But my little rascal
Just won't stand and get hit!

But if my kid's a daughter
She'll also be the best
We'll have her play at football
Until she grows her chest
I'll keep her from the suitors
Leering at prom balls
Yeah, I'm gonna keep my angel
Safe from the teenage sprawl!

I'm so excited to follow you in your little (BIG) adventure, Agri...this was lots of fun! I've yet to meet a man who didn't hope that his son would invent a new line of hair gels...; )

(SOTM) this was a delight to read Ag, not just because of the seamless pacing, but because it took me back to those innocent "newborn baby" days (now they're teenagers, a few of the possiblities for their future you mentioned have vapourised!! ;-)) - and I loved "We'll have her play at football Until she grows her chest" - lol - 555

(SOTM) 555. That was uplifting, relective, and funny at the same time. Lots of great stuff here, Agrimorfee. Makes me wish Nicole was about to have a baby....well, almost. ;)

But dad, all the other kids get disciplined by their parents!---MM

I'm intrigued by how you're going to get this to work: genetic manipulation, or force-feeding the boy growth hormones and brain-expanding drugs (if there are any such...)? Great parody, Ag :-)

(SOTM) Kids - The reason clones are outlawed. Hehe. Very funny approach.
wannabemustangjockey - October 29, 2006 - Report this comment
SOTM - Quite the overachiever, your kid is. He'll make all the other kids feel inadequate. You know, there's a reason we have emo kids these days!

Sotm-I like the wordplay in here, you got both meanings I was looking for in there =)

(SOTM) That's a lot you're expectiong of your kid. Well done, Agri! I loved the bit at the end about if the kid was a girl.

Great parody.. I'm assuming you have a kid who you wrote this about? Anyways, it was funny, so 555.

(ABC05M)

High expectation and low maintenance - I caught that bit about him teaching you baseball - I recall you commenting on baseball parodies saying that you don't follow that sport much. Even if you can't get a hit playing baseball your parody is a hit. Fine job here, Ag.

(ABC) Good story line in this one - hope things are working out well for the kid.

(ABC5) See above, minus the 'o' in 'expectiong'. Stupid past me, it's 'expecting'! Ahem...don't mind me.
