"So Keen on Brexit"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

"Brexit" describes the process by which the United Kingdom detaches itself from the European Union. An advisory referendum took place across the UK on 23rd June 2016 and voting was not compulsory. Leave votes outnumbered those of citizens who preferred to remain within the Union.
Hey
Well my temperature's rising
And my mind’s cracking up,
Crazy people knocking
Please pass me a cup,
The debate is exhausting
They’re all talking rot,
But I try to stay awake
So my coffee is hot.

And I'm so keen on Brexit,
So keen on Brexit,
I say:
Gimme some precision;
Make a key decision;
Gimme some precision, day-by-day!

Hey
Well my head's been a-spinning
For some sixteen months,
Too much is happening
And I feel like a dunce.
It’s another hard week
And nothing looks good,
I just want to relax
Like everybody should.

And I'm so keen on Brexit,
So keen on Brexit,
I say:
Gimme some precision;
Make a key decision;
Gimme some precision, day-by-day!

Hey
Well I vote as instructed
Everything seems fraught,
Can Britain sign out
Or shall we abort?
What an adventure
On a sea of red tape
Must we stay in
Or can we escape?

And I’m so keen on Brexit,
So keen on Brexit,
I say:
Gimme some precision;
Gimme some decision;
Yeah, more negotiation;
Lots of innovation;
Practical solution;
Up the revolution;
Heal social division;
A little more precision.
"Red tape" is an informal phrase used in both the UK and USA to mean official rules, administrative or legal processes that seem unnecessary to many and often frustrate change or popular reforms. It can develop both across international borders and between institutions, businesses or different levels of government within a nation-state.

I'm afraid most of your viewers are too young to understand who or what the Spencer Davis group was, but I'm not, … So, champion show; hip, hip huzzah with 555's and all that rot. …… Now for the younger (under 55) set -- the Spencer Davis Group was a Sixties band with great potential as it featured a teenage Stevie Winwood as lead vocalist. Unfortunately for the band, Winwood left to form "Traffic" in the late Sixties, and SDG faded into oblivion
