"I Let The Cat In – No Bed Tonight Lament"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Well, "hubby" here has rather a big problem it seems...see Adagio's "Why'd He Let Cat In" piece today for the "other" POV...Lyrics in {brackets} are sung during instrumental parts.
[instrumental intro]

I let the cat in
Should not have done
Puked on the carpet
Cleaning it was no fun
And now my wife is pissed
Man, is she really sore
"Connubial Bliss"
just went right out the door

Now we do fight
No sex tonight
Oh, man, does that bite

Our little kitty
turns out was sick
Once in the house she puked
It went all over, ICK!!

Wife then yelled at me
"Just what's wrong with you, man?
On the couch you will sleep
or the Guest Room or Den

But not with me"
Jeez, was she steamed
She's real pissed at me
Yes, she's pissed with me

[instrumental break]

{Our dear little kitty}
{I let in}
{tonight}
{Puked on the carpet}
{it caked up and it dried}
{Then my wife threw me}
{out of our bed}
{She told me, "Sleep elsewhere}
{Like the Guest Room or Den}
{That.blows}
{I know it blows}

Why'd I let cat in?
Well, I tried to explain
"Sick was out kitten
It was starting to rain

Kitty's been really sick
and has been for days"
She said, "Your head is thick
common sense; not a trace"

She was not through
She continued
"Just what is with you?
Now go clean that puke"
Ee-ee-eew

Now I am blue
Banned from bedroom
that Bitch is so cruel
Damn, that bitch is cruel
it's true

BITCH!!

[to fade]
[then pause and light instrumentals out to spoken part]

Can't sleep on couch; I moon
Wife's forbade me from her room
No bed with her, she scolds
"Get back from my bed"
there's no way to get that witch to relent
Can't ask for nothing from her; no – none
Moaning; damn – "Wife, that's enough, this is dumb"
She mumbles, "Dickhead, this has just begun"
Now I'm thinking, "Sh*t, it's best to keep mum"

Cold-hearted whore; her rules do bite
Won't let the cat in; out each night
Afraid to say what's in my mind
Don't need, I sigh, a fight tonight
That Witch is abusive

Thanks, Jason...yeah, I was "incommunicado" for several days...we had our Annual Customer Seminar last weekend so I was holed up in a hotel working...and the days before that was busy working on the preparations for the event. I WAS a little under the weather last week, too...but feel better now.

PMS & JB - thanks. I've always been fond of writing cat-box, cat-puke parodies. One of my earliest pieces (way, way back in time, much prior to "Amiright" days...maybe 1971 or 1972) was "Litter Green" to Gordon Lightfoot's "Bitter Green", from the mid-sixties. I've got that one up on the site here, of course.

You did do a great job whining like Adagio said
Red Ant - December 12, 2006 - Report this comment
I never let our cat out - last time he got out (my fault), he stayed gone for eight days, during which time I was in the doghouse. I learned yesterday morning that my cat is attracted to Baby's Breath flowers, and also that said flowers make a cat very ill; I cleaned up not one but four puke spots. At least he doesn't spray things like our last cat did. Oh, relateable anf funny work here, Paul, and I see you even did the poem, heh heh. 555.

Coming in late on this one but: Bad Paul, poor kitty.

Ann , Red Ant, TJC & Carol, Thanks! Glad you liked it...Red, yeah...doing the "spoken part" was part of the deal...actually, I didn't mind doing it once I got a chance to hear exactly what the original spoke part was. I can parody a spoken part, I just need to KNOW what the words are to do it. It was fun doing this little collaboration. Thanks again, Pat....
