The Lyrics

This is a tough song to parody. not as tough as lose yourself but pretty tough
We are lucky because this guy named Chucky
Had a plan to make a great website
Laughs from music, parodies included
From then on it was called Am-I-Right
In the Midwest Sean Goodpaster wrote
Lots of songs as STG like ¨papa roach¨
That guy Chris Pyhtila wrote a song that's killa
To Tutone, Pi's what it's about
That was the first one... wow there are thousands now

Florio brothers, along with many others
In late 2 thousand started posting songs
Around when they came another guy with fame came
And that guys name is William tong
Florios and William tong dueled
About politics and called each other fools
And some guy named Dave wrote a song that got raves
And Napster is what its about
It is tops out of... wow there are thousands now

And Bryan O'Connor writes that ghosts are goners
Also about Disney rides
And Phil Alexander, who's a programmer
Is really quite a funny guy
And Rice Cube and Watt both used their brains for
Great parodies such as ¨Phony Major¨
Mike and his pal Jordan as a duo scored man-
Y hits and one is called ¨Fat Cow¨
On the site that has... wow there are thousands now

Writers, trying, One Guy, spiting
All the work us writers have done
Ghetto, Otto, Syncronos, both Florios
All want to be number one
Mailman Malone's the best song 'bout B-Ball
Robzombie parodied all of Pink Floyd's ¨The Wall¨
John Harvey and Jenkins, wrote a few great ones
And Jim A wrote hundreds somehow
A small part out of... wow there are thousands now

Mike Armstrong, William Tong, what am I doing wrong
That I can't have big hits like you do?
Wrote 150, I guess that's kind of nifty
But never charted better than 2
Writing every day through my midterms
But the lack of good votes makes me squirm
With each song I try but, the votes say lots of writers
Are a whole lot better than me
It would fulfill my dreams if you'd all vote on my parodies
ok maybe it wouldnt fulfill all my dreams but voting would make me feel a little better

It is a tough song to parody, especially since it seems to have arrived on the board on "Monday, Monday, can't trust that day..." Good job.

This is the kind of parody I love. I wrote a lot of "site specific" stuff over at the Three Dead Horses Saloon http://www.debategate.com/3DHS that got raves - but nobody except site members would understand most of them. When Yahoo killed clubs in favor of groups, I wrote one of my best parodies - "It's the End of the Club as We Know It" (based, of course, on the REM song) - in honor of the Politically Incorrect Cafe (which broke apart, left Yahoo and moved to MSN and the 3DHS). The pacing was dead on and I have to pat my back for it - but nobody here would get it - lol! Great choice of a song to parody for this topic. I already understand some of the references and for those I do not, well, it's nice to get a sense of the history of the place. Good job!

Found this via the random feature, Ethan. Pacing and rhyming were a tad suspect in the early days but the intent and the OS were great.
