The Lyrics

They took our Coke away
But all the advertisements say, to not despair
Cause they've got a better uh, recipe

No, it's not the same
But ads proclaim, New Coke isn't really lame
And the taste is just right
Hey!

Drink up, my pretties
Drink up, you will love it so
Huzzah, the old stuff's been replaced
It's just a little bit of, managed market magic

The crowds are feelin' low
Startin' to withdraw, and they're demanding
Their former brand, once again

It was all a mistake
Soon you'll partake, the good stuff
Just plunk your little money down
Look out!

Drink up, my pretties
Drink up, yeah, it's good to go
The old cola zing's back on the shelf
Now you can get your mitts on, Coca-Cola Classic

Drink up, my pretties
Drink up, drink up, now you love it so
This old-new thing's flyin' off the shelf
I kinda see the wit of, Coca-Cola Classic

Just a little bait-and-switch scheme here and there

Well done, 555!!! Some trivia on Coke's history: Since Coca-Cola denied Germany licensing for their new plant when the war started, Germany invented Fanta instead (short for Fantasie). German troops in N Africa captured quantities and Rommel had them tied to Bf 109s with light water in a socks to chill them at altitude! Cold Coke in N Africa! Postwar, Coke stole Fanta's Polar Bear outfit and theme used during the war as did Icee.

Thanks for the interesting trivia!

Great job... I prefer Tab and Red Bull myself, but I bought some "Coke II" (aka New Coke) on Amazon.com a few years back when it was still in limited production from a handful of bottlers. I liked it, and Diet Coke reminds me a lot of it. I was mainly drinking Clearly Canadian and Royal Mistic products when New Coke was current (I was about 6 years old then). Great OS once again, and 5s.

Thanks! This OS really jumped out at me the first time I heard the album as a kid. As for New Coke, it was okay but I was very glad to see Old Coke make a comeback!
