The Lyrics

Radio in the 50s--early 70's was wonderful. DJ personalities, great music, a chance for all hit songs to be heard. Now it's just a corporate mush of the same old sh*t over and over, especially oldies stations. They pick 100 songs and just play them into the ground. Classic Rock the same way...if I hear "Free Bird" or "Stairway to Heaven" one more time, I'm gonna' go Colorado on them! Here is my opinion of radio..............
You reek of monotony
But that monotony stinks, you've gone and left my ears in pain
All you play is the same fifty songs over and over all day long
They used to bring great memories of a radio style that used to be

You play the same old songs
but with indifferent feeling, it's just plain wrong!
You play the same old songs
but with indifferent feeling, it's just plain wrong!

Ah, oh Ah, what a bunch of fools we are
To keep the radio on, driving in the car
But the tragedy keeps taunting me
reminding me how in touch you used to be
Keep waiting to hear what used to touch our ears
I know we'll always remember a special June or November

Play the same old songs, (can't stand to hear 'em )
but with indifferent feeling, it's just plain wrong!
(Oh, it hurts to hear it)
They're just the same old songs
but with indifferent feeling, it's just plain wrong!

(Sax Solo)

Gets me angry, and it's just plain wrong!
every time I hear those same old songs
Now you've gone; it's just ridiculous
I only reminisce the hours that we spent
We used to listen to the music
make requests for the music

You play the same old songs
but with indifferent feeling, it's just plain wrong!
You play the same old songs
but with indifferent feeling, it's just plain wrong!
I, oh I can't bear to hear them
They're the the same old songs
but with indifferent feeling, it's just plain wrong!
(Ooo, it pisses me off to hear it)
It's the same old songs
but with indifferent feeling, it's just plain wrong!

The radio station they play at my work does this. However they do come up with some pretty weird stuff from time to time: Star by Stealer's Wheel or Painted Ladies by Ian Thomas (the latter of which is apparently known only to myself and Tong ha ha). Of course, then they play THOSE over and over which kinda spoils the novelty.

You must only be slightly angry by going "Colorado" on them. Highly angry and you'd go "Virginia" on them. Ironically, Virginia Tech is only a little over 200 miles from Richmond. Almost 40 killed there. Now if you were monumentally enraged, you'd go "Oklahoma" on them. 168 killed in that atrocity. Good parody though.

Found this one a little late. The oldies stations I hear will select one song by each artist, all of whom had better songs than the ones that get run into the ground. Every oldies station, I imagine, plays Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman". How many, if any, would play "It Takes All Kinds of People" or "There Won't Be Many Coming Home"?
