The Lyrics

...of course, it didn't work out this way
he ain't no good...he's gotta die
neck will break...and he'll be cryin'
as he's flyin'

let's hang john
for what he's wrought
floor let's go...BAM...the farm is bought
and a lot he's done to peeve us
hang john...hang john...hang john
cause abe's he's shot

you say you're gonna go and make a hit
gonna hunt him down...and blow the boy to bits
(but that's wrong)...some want the boy to get it
(but that's wrong)...they only want the credit

you'd better drop that pistol from your hand
there's a fortune, maybe, for this wanted man
(lighten up)...i'm here to just remind ya
(lighten up)...don't let your anger blind ya
crazy...(don't you go)...crazy...(no no no)
think it over...don't slay-ay

let's hang john
for what he's wrought
floor let's go...BAM...the farm is bought
and a lot he's done to peeve us
hang john...hang john...hang john
cause abe's he's shot

i know that fellow has to pay his dues
but let's do it right...let's fit him with a noose
(string him up)...we've got a jail to hold him
(string him up)...until its time to scold him
crazy...(don't you go)...crazy...(no no no)
think it over...don't slay-ay

let's hang john
for what he's wrought
floor let's go...BAM...the farm is bought
and a lot he's done to peeve us
hang john...hang john...hang john
cause abe's he's shot

Very funny stuff, Alvin...I've always wanted to do this OS, but have never gotten around to it. As long as you keep up the good work, I guess I won't have to. =)

Great job of combining humor and history...another good example of truth and comedy, blending...3 high five's

I blasted the OS (which happens to be in my iTunes library) as I read this. Fun! "Besides that, how did you enjoy the play, Mrs. Lincoln?"

I had to see which "John" you proposed hanging. What AFW said. HIGH Fives! :0

One of my very favorite songs of all time, and you used it to break Johnny Carson's first rule of comedy: "No Abe Lincoln jokes!" On the other hand, with his sense of humor, Abe probably would've liked it.

Great one, alvin. As Arwen said, nice blend of history and comedy.
