"Chapel Of Death"

Parody Written by:

Hu's On First

The Lyrics

Goin' to the chapel and he's gonna get murdered
Goin' to the chapel and he's gonna get murdered
Family's gonna beat him and he's gonna get murdered
He's goin' to the chapel of death

Fall is here, the sky is grey, whoa oh oh
This is such a tragic day
A church that's full of folks who prey
Poor kid won't be livin' anymore because he's

Goin' to the chapel and he's gonna get murdered
Goin' to the chapel and he's gonna get murdered
Family's gonna beat him and he's gonna get murdered
He's goin' to the chapel of death

What an awful place to be, whoa oh oh
This poor kid is dead, 'cause he
Got slain in the Spirit, lit'rally
Poor kid won't be livin' anymore because he's

Goin' to the chapel and he's gonna get murdered
Goin' to the chapel and he's gonna get murdered
Family's gonna beat him and he's gonna get murdered
He's goin' to the chapel of death

Thanks for the link to the story behind this ominous song. There have been reports that the late Fred Phelps did physically abuse his children, and may have beaten a son with an axe handle. Their church building is an English Tudor style structure with a tall wooden fence around it. Most of the yard appears to consist of a tennis court with a basketball rim and a tall flag pole flying a very "gay" looking version of the Stars and Stripes. A banner reading "godhatesfags.com" stretches across the south side of the building. Just to the east, across Orleans Street is a suburban style house owned by a gay organization. It is painted in bold rainbow stripes and, oddly, flies the same flag as Westboro. It is amazing to me the family of the victim in your story didn't come to the aid of their brother, by force, even lethal force if necessary. I'd like to think that is what I would do. There is a cult in the Kansas City area called "International House of Prayer". It has caused some grief and provoked some legal action by the International House of Pancakes, which has no affiliation, but got some heat when one of the cult members died under mysterious circumstances.
