The Lyrics

All of the items below are real foods served by street vendors and restaurants or sold in grocery stores around the world. Special thanks go to Facebook followers Joe L., "Tiki", Jeff R. & Ed A-B. for their suggestions on this menu (I used what I felt could work in this song). This is what’s vacation’s for
Working hard since 24
Lazing at a five-star ho-tel
But we have a grudge to share
The room service bill of far
Seems like it came from a ho-vel!
There’s no beef roast, no lasagna to find,
Chicken legs, mashed potatoes to have
These so-called gourmet entrees may make you feel ill
Please just close all your eyes, we’ll describe this—

Food, nebulous food
Sea cucumber, gizzard
Eel and fish eye soup
Yuck’s surely the best word!
There’s sweetbreads one can enjoy
“What’s that?” is your question?
Lamb pancreas! Bring you joys?
Protestation!

Food, nebulous food
Add this to your diet
Lute-fisk’s here today
I dare you to try it!

Try a bit of those frog’s legs
Try unborn duck, “Balut”
That’s food?
Pitiful food!
Perilous food!
Nebulous food!

Food, nebulous food!
A side dish of natto?
Spoiled soy beans, how crude!
Will make me go blotto!
What did we all scream about
What made us all cry?
Baked haggis and roast pig snout
Dear God, WHY?!

Food, nebulous food!
Look what they will serve you
Said it’s in good health
Fried liver just for you
Spicy soup served up with tripe
“Now, please don’t be rude!”
That’s food?!
Unbegun food!
Creepy-ass food!
Nebulous food!

Food, nebulous food
Describe what it smells like—
“Turned!” "Old dead nun!” ”Brut!”
"Please hand me a sharp spike!"
Prickly pear cactus pads
For a real pointed feeling!
How ‘bout then some “spotted dick”?
Unappealing!!

Food, nebulous food
What wouldn’t we give for
Some good spare ribs, orrrrr…
Fresh lobster thermidor!
Instead getting too sick to view
This menu so crude
This food!
Tragical food!
Distasteful food!
Hideous food!
Revolting food!
They say it’s food!
Nebulous FOOD!!!!

Very similar to my “Strange Food”/ “Hey Jude” parody that I used for the Beatles round. Thus I loved the idea and some of these foodstuffs are so disgusting that it’s hard to imagine them being real!

Lutefisk is so horrible that kids don't even wanna eat it in Venezuela.

Dare me all you like, Ag, but I aint touching those Lute-fisks. Try stopping me with the spotted dick though - grew up loving that delicious british pudding. Very educational and well-researched - great job - 555
