The Lyrics

Tribute to Larry Hagman, who passed Friday, age 81
Role in, role in, role in,
Role in, role in, role in,
Role in, role in, role in,

Role in, role in, role in,
Put his heart and soul in,
"Dallas" - had, a role in...
J.R.

Great as J.R. Ewing,
Villian, we loved booing,
Larry - when he was that
Ranch czar..

Before Dallas meanie,
Starred in " I Dream Of Jeannie"
Soon Texas - would make him a
Big Star..

Egotist - ladies man
Iron fist - ruling plan
Nailed it like - no one can..
J.R.

Count him out - never could
Played the part - like he should
Bein' bad - he was good..
J.R.

He knew when bad was sellin'
Battlin' Sue Ellen
On that ranch, a' dwellin'..
J.R.

The role, good luck would hand him
Far cry above the random
Three years in "Dallas" - soapy plot..

Grateful when he won it,
He weaved a web and spun it,
On final show "Whodunit" - got shot

Held the world - on it's edge
Cliff hanger - at the ledge
Hit the spot - like a sledge..
J. R.

Count him out - never could
Played the part - like he should
Bein' bad - he was good..
J.R.

J.R.

Fitting and timely AFW. The atmosphere of the OS is perfect. Would you believe I never watched Dallas, but I liked him in Jeannie. I also have his mother's recordings as Nellie Forbush in South Pacific (Mary Martin). RIP, Larry.

Very good tribute. I did not watch Dallas either, but I have a friend who, like Hagman, recently had a kidney transplant and afterwards received a telephone call of encouragement from Mr. Hagman. I think he did a lot of good stuff like that; so I, too, think the world is a poorer place for his passing.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Larry Hagman died?? I didn't know this!!! .

My mother was a humungous 'Dallas' fan, so I practically grew up with J.R. and co - and I watched re-runs of 'I Dream of Jeannie' on Saturday mornings too. Perfect OS for this classy parody - I like to picture him riding off into the sunset to it. RIP Larry - and 555 for you, AFW.

Thanks,LL...I don't think many men did watch "Dallas" it was primarily, a chick flick..primetime soap opera...and thanks, John..yes, He seemed like a real decent guy, for a Star...and thanks, Dave, Rob, and Wendy...yes, there's that old Celebrity death curse, you always hear about..where they die in "Threes"...First, there was Mr. Food, then, Larry...and the boxer, Comacho

Add me to the list of those who never watched Dallas! LOL. I saw enough ads however to know exactly all about it (in fact, I think I knew the storyline from the ads without having to watch the hour long episodes!) Excellent tribute AFW.

Like a lot of the above comments, I didn't watch Dallas, but I thought he was great in "Jeannie." Nice Texas size tribute to Mr. Hagman.

Should have stretched out the last two "J.R.s" in keeping with the grand finale of the song -- "J.R-R-R-R-RR-R! (Yeah! Bang!) J.R-R-R-R-R-R-R! (Yeah! Bang!)
