I need a book about Colette
I try to take one out and yet I can't do so:
One book overdue and I have a fine

Well, ain't that just my rotten luck
I'd better find this missing book, so off I go
Out the library and head back to mine

High and low
For this lost book I seek
Could have sworn
I took it back last week

But when I've turned upside down my room
Its absence makes me frown with gloom because I know
Each day it's not back increases the fine

I look in
The library myself
Sure enough
The book's there on the shelf

So I ring for the librarian
I show her that it's there and then she just says: "Oh!
Must be a mistake, I'll cancel the fine."
