The Lyrics

I know this and the other ones are late, but hey its still the season
ELVES! I need somebody
ELVES! Not just anybody
ELVES! you know I need all you ELVES!

I am so busy, even when it's Christmas Day
I hear the sleigh bells are jingling all the way.
My bags filled with presents and so full
Now it's the day when I should go and take them door too door

Elves please if you and help me now
Get started on next year's gifts right now
Elves please, get all these presents now
Won't you please, please help me?
And the reindeers cant help in any way
They have to go with me and guide the sleigh
But they have hooves and they cant help at all
Do a good job, when I come back, Ill give you LUCKY CHARMS!

Elves please if you and help me now
Get started on next year's gifts right now
Elves please, get all these presents now
Won't you please, please help me?

I am so busy, even when it's Christmas Day
I hear the sleigh bells are jingling all the way.
My bags filled with presents and so full
Now it's the day when I should go and take them door too door

Elves please if you and help me now
Get started on next year's gifts right now
Elves please, get all these presents now
Won't you please, please help me?
And the reindeers cant help in any way

Bob Gomez, probably overstaying his welcome - December 26, 2004 - Report this comment
This is a good effort, Jack, I liked the originality of the idea. The pacing could use some tinkering, like for example, hear how "My bags filled with presents and so full" compares with the original, which I think goes, "But ev'ry now and then I feel so insecure..." That to me is an easy fix, like "My bags are filled with presents and so very full..." adds two syllables. Anyhow, congrats on a good song that creates a plausibly wacky scenario in Santa's world....Peace...d;:^)

Oh, do we have "Elves Gone Wild" again? Or have Elves left the building? (Thankyaverymuch.)

Jackie: "Elves!" is a fun and clever sub for "Help!" I like the Lucky Charms line best. Also, ditto Bob Frickin' Gomez's comment, and cheers for Michaelopedia's.

Thanks B. Go, Michael and Spaff!

It's a good idea, but your pacing is way off. You need to make sure that the patterns and rhymes of the words, on the whole, match the original. Better luck next time. 3-4-3.
