The Lyrics

Back in the 00s USA threatened Sweden with trade sanctions if they didn't bow down and shut down The Pirate Bay, but due to heavy youth voter support for it and a prolonged legal process against it the government had to half-openly start pouring money into Spotify as to hasten the build of a legal alternative (and show their copyright sith masters on the yank side of the big pond that they were doing something). Gomer artists like Neil Young probably has no idea how much thanks they owe Spotify since then for still being able at all to profit from their back catalogues. The irony of that (and rumours that Paul McCartney is to join the walk(er) out), gave me the idea for this parody song. Keep on trucking in the free world!

A YouTube version of the original song can currently be found here.
Spotify
Grumpy rockers are unsatisfied
Yeah, they say Joe Rogan's spewing lies
That's why they're leaving Spotify

Suddenly
Gomers we thought dead will stubbornly
Keep on rocking pro-authority
Hell's frozen now, apparently!

Joe, he has to go, must get axed, or so they say
Podcast guests were wrong, he can't stay another day

Spotify
Told Neil Young to piss off and goodbye!
Other geezers joined him on the fly
A walker-out, half-mummified

Woke, they'd have to leave, they all waxed, it's safe to say
Joe has weekly hits, did that irk their drugged old brains?

Yesterday
It was built to kill The Pirate Bay*
Make them artists money every day
A hand that feeds them play by play

Mm, mm, mm, mm, mm...

I shouldn't have put a copyright notice on these lyrics. I now retract that. If anyone wanna record this parody and put it on Spotify just go ahead. (Obviously I don't own the music, normal parody song rules for your country still applies).
