They cost roughly $40, but Black afro Barbie is $25. What a discount. But BLM sees it as meaning Black women don't rate as high as other races! What total BS! What's next? Fat Acceptance Barbie? An Amy Schumer doll? 59 years down the drain...

* Barbie in 1959 was based on the 1955 OM Hauser German prostitute doll originating from the 1952 Bild Zeitung newspaper comic strip. Ruth Handler, whose husband worked for Mattel, bought several Bild Lillis in Europe and had Mattel buy out OM Hauser. Barbie is the redesign. Named after Barbara Handler- Ruth's daughter.

I always heard that Barbie has some unsavory origins. Thanks for the details. How many more African-American dolls would they sell if the price were $15 higher? When even dolls are political this country is in deep trouble.
