It looks like France, while weeping, will not "let it (ISIS) be", unlike the USA under Obama. 555 sorties.

here's a bit of an uneven score from me but since this isn't the funniest parody (as expected by the subject matter) and the fact that I agree France should take it's revenge (heck time to stop ISIS before even more tragedies strike!) 425

The increased airstrikes are good, but in the end aircraft can't hold or take back ground. Someone will have to fight ISIS with ground forces. The West is so far content to preach containment, limited airstrikes, and negotiations with various sectarian and national opponents of ISIS including the Kurds, the Shias, the Turks, Russians, and Gulf State Arabs. Others want to pour heavy weapons into Syria for the rebels. But even if Assad is oustered, WHO will then lead Syria? What of failed Iraq and Afghanistan? It's a no-win situation unless you form a broad based coalition of the US, Europe, Russia, and Gulf States (perhaps even Iran) to fight ISIS on the ground and obliterate them as a terrorist entity. Even then to stop them from reforming, everyone needs to cyber attack them, strip citizenship from volunteers who seek to join ISIS, and unfortunately garrison troops to guarantee some stability in that region. The sad fact is that everyone the US and West helps in that region hates us due to Islam. I feel bad for France as an aircraft carrier and some ground based Mirages and Rafales won't do much. Ground combat is the answer, but no one wants to commit in the West.

Update: Russia has gone into action with heavy bombers Tu-95 and Tu-160, with additional Tu-22s coming. The first two types launched 26 cruise missiles at Raqqa in support of the French and pledged the Moskva cruiser in the Med to coordinate with the Charles De Gaulle aircraft carrier on the way. The Russians are deploying 25 bombers and another 37 Flankers and Frogfoots. Germany is also considering military action against ISIS. For now, they are arming the Kurds with assault rifles, mortars, grenades, ammo, and Milan AT weapons. All good news. I'm hoping the Luftwaffe will bring in the Typhoon and Tornado into the conflict. German Heer has the Eurotiger.
