Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

I didn't want to do a song about the new royal baby - there's way too much about it already. This is about the way-over-the-top prattle about the fresh prince of Belgravia.
Wibble bollocks, blah blah piffle, mindless prattle
Waffle gabble, oh well, at least the damn thing's here
Here comes the son (a royal baby)
Here comes the son, and I say
Not more shite

On the radia, front page of every single paper
Social media, filling up my FaceBook feed
Here comes the son (blah blah blah blah blah)
Here comes the son, and there's no
No respite

Son, son, son, here it comes
(repeat ad nauseam)

Kinda galling, it's filling every TV channel
It's appalling, let her parturiate in peace
Here comes the son (just shut the **** up)
Here comes the son, so clichéd
It's all trite

You know, I sang a similar tune when my wife was delivering our first baby -- Little darling, I see the crown slowly emerging; Little darling, it seems like weeks since you've pushed there .. Here comes the son, doo be doo dah, here comes the son and I say .. He's all right.

You had me at "Wibble bollocks." A nice understated piece brimming with curmudgeonly goodness.

Great tonic this, true parody - makes a point and makes you laugh (and learn - I had to look up 'parturiate'). I could see this being performed on a mainstream TV comedy show. I'm thinking Hugh Laurie on vocals. Quintuplets are in order.

:) Thanks everyone

Lifeliver: I might have made up the word "parturiate" as a verbed form of "parturition"..

A Swedish satire site had this picture that says it all really (nota bene - NSFW):
