Song Parodies -> "Carnivore Pygmies"

Original Song Title:

"Eleanor Rigby"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Carnivore Pygmies"

Parody Written by:

Porfle Popnecker

The Lyrics

Ahh, cookin' all the yummy people
Ahh, cookin' all the yummy people

Carnivore pygmies
Mixing the rice for dessert, as a pudding begins
Pudding I'm in

Fate's out the window
Bearing a baste that they keep in a jar on a pole
Hoo, is it cold

All the boney pygmies
It's you they hunger for
All the boney pygmies
Un-choosey carnivores

Caught a buttinsky
Sighting some birds he could sketch in his notebook of blue
Now he's a stew

Look at him perking
Warming a crock through the night for the cold morning's fare
Well-done or rare

All the yummy people
Fondue they all become
All the yummy people
Their stew will be yum-yum

Ahh, look at all the boney pygmies
Ahh, look at all the boney pygmies

Carnivore pygmies
Tried to regurgitate Coreys who shared the same name
Feldman and Haim

Buttered buttinsky
Wearing a burka of yams as he waddles away
No more entree

All the boney pygmies
It's you they want to glom
All the boney pygmies
They'll chew your dad and mom

This is a little known fact, Porf, but it was in fact an article in National Geographic about a tribe of carnivorous pygmies in the Upper Congo River basin that gave McCartney the inspiration for the the title "Eleanor Rigby" I read that on an Amiright comment thread somewhere. So it's no surprise to me that you would eventually come up with this

Mix in a little Soylent Green for flavor. Truly a tribe of "humanitarians".

The soldiers of the Congo love to eat Pygmies when the capture them and treat the male genitalia as a delicacy- gross! I have already done the pygmie parody of MJ's "Man in the Mirror" but have now remembered another odd African ritual that I need to parody. I can't reveal it b/c no one else but me has the guts to parody such a nasty practice. More later. Good topic Porfle-555!!!

Tanzanians also devour Albinos, believing that their body parts are somehow magical :(

First one in two days worth of parodies that I actually laughed at. Loved 'pudding i'm in' - lol!

A really good laugh fest here PP, except for our hero, Buttinsky...

Well, at least he escapes at the end.

This one's a total winner. Great one for kids' parties without the later namechecks, Except they wouldn't know the Beatles. I'm new to the site and I'll be looking out for more of your gems, Porfle. You've got the knack.

(sigh) In my dreams, all my parody comments sound like that!

(SOTM) Honestly, I'm not too sure about this one. Maybe it's the term "boney pygmies" that strikes me as a bit insensitive, maybe it's the fact that the focus isn't really clear (neither was the OS, but that's besides the point), I dunno, this just didn't click with me. Pacing was spot on, though.
Porfle Popnecker - September 29, 2012 - Report this comment
Hey, I'm sensitive about my pygmie-related insensitivity.

(SOTM) Sorry, for my tardiness. This one perplexes me a bit. It was absolutely hilarious, with great rhymes, and references, and perfect pacing. However, there are some facts in this parody that are unclear. The pygmies are the carnivores, so the line "All the boney pygmies/ It's you they hunger for" can be misinterpreted. I assume you meant it as the pygmies hunger for other human's flesh. But it can be read as directed towards the pygmies, as in "Hey all you boney pygmies, we're hungry for you". I read it as the first way, but on the second read through notice the opposing inflection. Just something to look out for in future parodies. Still loved it a lot. 555.

Standing ovation...this may be one of the best Beatles parodies I've ever read. You get 555 for the title switch alone and it was incredibly "well-done" throughout. Nice work!

This reminds me of the time I spent in the Jungle and we were supposed to go a pygmy party but it was pretty "dead". I couldn't see anyone... "Canoe"? (There were canoes on the shore. It made sense on the ride!) Still anything that reminds me of that awesome job is alright with me.

This is a brilliant title switch. Funny lyrics to go along with a great idea. Well done.

SOTY...here's the thing...Beatles parodies are winners. At least for me. It's probably because I know/love the songs so well...that I can just focus on learning to love the lyrics...but I think I like this one even more now. LOVE carnivore parodies, I guess...hahaha...Perfect 10!
