Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

We all remember Mr. Peabody and the WABAC* (Way Back) machine, traveling back through time to view events as they happened. His trusty sidekick was his adopted "boy" Sherman (a twist on a boy and his dog). Both wore horn-rimmed glasses and Mr. Peabody wore a bowtie! After each history lesson, Mr. Peabody would make a pun. Mr. Peabody's first name was Hector and he and Sherman lived in NYC...
Was a lad named Sherman
Curious as can be
Pondered the mysteries of life
Fascinated by history

Someone he could call upon,
Brilliant Mr. Peabody
Traveled through space-time each day
Via the WABAC Machine

Beyond light speed in the WABAC Machine
The WABAC Machine, the WABAC Machine
Beyond light speed in the WABAC Machine
The WABAC Machine, the WABAC Machine

Was no need to hop aboard
Just stepped through a portal door
And then he was on his way

Beyond light speed in the WABAC Machine
The WABAC Machine, the WABAC Machine
Beyond light speed in the WABAC Machine
The WABAC Machine, the WABAC Machine

[What lies ahead, Mr. Peabody, what lies ahead?
Sherman, my boy- the answers!
Pay attention! Pay attention!
Time desired?
Back then! Back then!]

Can go anywhere we please (Backward with ease)
So much to discuss (So much to discuss) and to be seen (And to be seen)
High IQ (High IQ) and boy, pre-teen (Boy, pre-teen)
Many travels (Many travels) for learning (For learning, so much)

Beyond light speed in the WABAC Machine
The WABAC Machine, the WABAC Machine
Beyond light speed in the WABAC Machine
The WABAC Machine, the WABAC Machine
Beyond light speed in the WABAC Machine
The WABAC Machine, the WABAC Machine
Beyond light speed in the WABAC Machine
The WABAC Machine, the WABAC Machine

Interesting effort, Robert. You've got the the Captain's voiceover down and everything. And now that you mentioned it, I remember how Peabody would make the pun and then there would be a tuba "rimshot" to end the cartoon. That always made me laugh

Wow - I forgot all about Mr. Peabody! Did you use the WABAC machine to research for this - lol?

TY CML, but what's interesting is that not many people know that the Way Back Machine was actually called WABAC (taken from the early ENIAC and UNIVAC computers). There is a real Way Back machine on the Internet for viewing old sites or pages that existed in the past. Here is what my old site used to look like before my site host and I had a falling out and everything was messed up: http://web.archive.org/web/20100729094546/http://www.greyfalcon.us/

I always hoped Mr. Peabody and Sherman would bump into those guys from The Time Tunnel (an Irwin Allen Production!)

This is awesome! I never knew it was WABAC, I always thought it was just "wayback." One of my favorite old Jay Ward cartoons.

Thanks guys! I was trying to think of something to rhyme with yellow submarine and came up with the WABAC Machine. I already did the German Submarine and Jenseitsflugmaschine!!!
