This parody is about the Bild Lilli doll that preceded Barbie. She was part of the Bild Zeitung's cartoons- a High Society call girl that catered to the rich playboys of the era (1950s). There was actually a Bild Lilli movie that starred Anne Smyrner... but Ruth Handler in Europe stole the prostitue doll idea and had her Mattel-working husband transform the German beauty into American icon Barbie (her daughter's name)! Mattel bought the rights to O.M. Hauser's adult doll and it became Barbie- a fact that was only admitted to in Barbie history in the 1990s. So the American image of beauty is defined by a German prostitute doll. Fact. I bought 3 of those dolls for a bargain $600 US and sold them years later to an antique dealer for $3000!!! A mint Bild Lilli sells for $8000, equal to the '59 Barbie. Bild Lilli originated in comic form in 1952 and became a doll in 1955. the movie came out in 1958. Barbie arrived in 1959. Proportionally, Barbie as a real woman would be 5' 9" and 36-18-33. Bild Lilli would be 6' 0" 39-18-33! Both are based on doll proportions and not the images.

Thanks AFW, this parody was my last one before bed yesterday. I wanted to use "I Will" as the OS but had a tough time with a topic. All I could think of was She thrills and then I asked myself- who does? Bild Lilli just came to me and I wrote the parody in 5 mins or less. Done. Everyday I never know what I am going to write about.
