A very happy and yet tragic story here of Mark Aulger who was diagnosed with colon cancer in April 2011 and and had surgery and chemo. The treatments seemed successful until the cancer returned and Mark was hospitalized in January 2012 after developing pulmonary fibrosis as a result of treatment. On Jan 16th he was told his situation was fatal and that he had days to live. His wife Diane was pregnant and due to give bith on Jan 29th. But in an act of love and mercy she had the doctors induce labor early so that their daughter Savannah could be born on Jan 18th. Mark got to hold her and see her for 3 days before slipping into a coma. He died 2 days later. He was 52 and is survived by his wife Diane and 4 other children (ages 15, 13, 10, and 7).
