The Junkers Ju-87 Stuka (short for Sturmkampfflugzeug or Attack Aircraft/Dive Bomber) was one of the terror symbols of the Third Reich. Its wailing air screw-driven sirens paralyzed its victims (including Polish, French, and British AA gunners) while it precision-bombed targets and strafed columns of soldiers and AFVs as well as civilians. Although outclassed by the Battle of Britain, it remained a powerful aircraft in the AT role on the Ostfront with 2x 37mm BK cannons tearing up Soviet armor and still was the most accurate dive bomber of WW2. It even featured an auto-recovery system for after-the- bomb-release, so the pilot didn't have to strain to bring the aircraft nose up. A more powerful version, the Ju-187 made it to mock-up phase, but was cancelled.
