The Lyrics

In 1944 and urgent order was placed for 100 of the more advanced Type XXVI U-boats which would feature the Walter AIP turbine of 7500 hp and a weight of 926 tons submerged. It would possess a speed of 24 knots and carry an arsenal of 10 torpedo tubes (4 bow, and 2x 3 amidships in a Schneeorgel- Snow Organ- arrangement firing aft)! Blohm und Voss shipyards tried in vain to complete the first four laid-down with sections completed by May 7th when Germany fell. The boats were U-4501 to U-4504. The U-boat would also fire 165mm rockets from a 4-tube deck mount for use against pursuing vessels and against targeted ships. It was code-named "Project Ursel".
In the yards of Blohm und Voss
Type XXVI sitting
Four were under construction
Next- Gen Nazi submarine

Powered by Walter turbine
7500 hp clean
24 knots beneath the waves
926 ton machine

Come, let's build this German submarine
German submarine, German submarine
Come, let's build this German submarine
German submarine, German submarine

Kriegsmarine sailors were to board
The next Type U-boat of the war
But just four were oft-delayed

Come, let's build this German submarine
German submarine, German submarine
Come, let's build this German submarine
German submarine, German submarine

[Moving ahead, Heil Hitler, moving ahead!
Sections completed, near!
Near completion! Near completion!
New boats to fear!
May 7th! May 7th!]

As we struggle to complete (with little ease)
Here at Blohm und Voss (Here at Blohm und Voss) we will succeed(we will succeed)
U-boats new (U-boats new) 10 torpedo tubes (10 torpedo tubes)
This new German (This new German) submarine (Submarine, ja, ja)

Come, let's build this German submarine
German submarine, German submarine
Come, let's build this German submarine
German submarine, German submarine
Come, let's build this German submarine
German submarine, German submarine
Come, let's build this German submarine
German submarine, German submarine

John Lennon would probably like this.

Another deadly weapon delayed until it was no longer needed. The Allies had luck and/or divine intervention on their side. The German system was still handing out medals even into the first week of May to those who continued to fight for the lost cause.

The Type XXIs that were at sea on trials had two opportunities to kill British shipping but were ordered not to. U-2511 could have sunk HMS Suffolk at 600m and U-3008 some British merchant ships, but they only performed dummy attacks before retuning back home. But the Type XXIII had the last U-boat victory against Avondale Park at 2300 hrs on May 7, 1945.

Wow, lots of background went into this. Definitely the deepest story behind any parodies I've seen to Yellow Submarine. Well done for its depth and it's, well, water depth too. Nice one Rob
