Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

This is my Halloweenish entry for the month. What out of work Magicians may do to survive in this bad economy:

Let's fry some doves, doves
Let's fry some doves....

I lost the job, my magic stinks they penned
And economy's not right
And all my benefits just end
Just what will I eat tonight?

'Cause I'm so scared and tight... for money
So honey let's fry some doves

I'll pull that rabbit out my hat
Got a recipe for stew
He'll end up as a trick short lived
But what a meal I'll make for you
Hasenpfeffer won't need... no money
Bunny, hat's full enough

Let's fry some doves
Little bodies tasty, though
My hat is stuffed....

Woe, woe, no, dough

Now I don't need assistant thinks
That I'll pay her on time...
Now she needs to dissappear, wink wink
She's yummy, I'll rely
That she'll taste good when.. glazed with honey
Now Tammy we are free of

She's served with love
Fricassee'd end of show
My body's stuffed

No, no, no, show....

Pray you don't see my magic ring
Or you'll be served tonight
Ask me how to do that trick saw thing
And I will sure comply
For you're quite plump... I'm short for money

Your paying me with your blood
Yumm, I need your blood, blood...
With fried up doves....., woe.....

A "magical" parody, Mark! Would it be nice to pull millions of dollars out of that magician's hat? LOL!! Great take on what out of work magicians would survive this bad economy, since there's lots of them in the world, as they're replaced by comedians, pop singers, actors, etc. Pulling some 5's out of my hat and doves do taste good with honey! LOL!!
Fiddlegirl - October 01, 2010 - Report this comment
Tastes just like chicken! :) 555

Liked how the intro's second sentence made it not just a random title switch - clever!

Follow-up idea, yours for the taking: "Wouldn't It Be Doverly?". ("Loverly", MFL) 555

Thanks, TT, and great idea! I had that same thought with the title switch. Great shells think alike!

Mark, Andy P mentioned that you too were having problems reading fonts in the new style. i gave some resolution resolutions (heh!) and a shortcut. He asked me to make sure that you saw the discussion, though with you being a programmer, it's kind of surprising that you wouldn't know them. I guess being a programmer is different from being a user -- I have a friend who did programming for customers like NASA, but didn't know squat about the Web, Windows, etc. (Thank goodness the Shuttle doesn't run Windows, eh? ;)

ANY-way, the discussion is here:

and I'll make sure that Chucky sees it, too. And if you didn't need this, blame Andy. ;) Cheers! !

Thanks, TT. The fonts actually seem OK to me, it was ny misstyping that I appologized tp Andy for. I'm catching up on a couple past "Turtlepieces" of yours. Here's one of my recent: http://www.amiright.com/parody/80s/thepolice161.shtml

Mark, I asked TT to point you towards it because of a comment you made the last time it happened (quite a while ago now, but I've got a long-term memory like an elephant). Here's your comment:

Reminds me of the movie "Waterboy" with Adam Sandler when the mom cooks whatever is caught in her yard--fun idea to one of the better Beatles songs. . .from there collection, that can be ambiguous, but its the truth.

Matthias - November 18, 2010 - Report this comment
A down on his luck magician cooking the doves and bunnies used in his show. Where do you come up with these ideas Mark. Without a doubt one of your craziest and excellently done.
Mark Scotti - November 18, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks, Matthias. The "dove" line just popped into my head (ala Tom lehere's Poisoning pigeons...), and, with it being close to halloween, I tried to think of a sinister theme for it and.....PRESTO!!!

(SOTM) From the title, I would never have known this was aHalloween/magician-based parody. This is quite original and clever. I love the verse about the rabbit. TMGLTM here. 555

(SOTM) We didn't get any messages, and Captain Blackadder certainly did not eat this delicious, plump-breasted pidg...er, dove. Don't mind me, just quoting British comedy. Interesting idea, very well executed. 555 for you!

This is a classic one from you Mark. I remember your rouge magician gone bad parody. It easily would have won SOTM if The Beatles had written more lyrics to this song. This one is just plain magical!
