The Lyrics

This song is inspired by the fact that the TV show, "Lost," is coming to an end this Sunday, but it really could apply to any show that has dedicated fans, and a grand finale episode. The two Beatles songs it is based on are not actually back to back on record, but since both are, in a way, codas on their amazing tenure as rock band, they seem well suited to be married together, especially if the theme is the end of something. It sung from the perspective of a dedicated fan of the TV show. And there is a moral at the end.
The long mesm'rizing show, this geek can't ignore,
Is gonna disappear, new episodes no more.
It always leads me here, gets me with its lore.

The network's kooky guys, used darts to schedule 'way,
Has left this fool with fears, tune in the wrong day,
Would have screwed me dear t'miss the finale.

Many times I've been thus prone, checking my TV's wiring.
Anyway how was I to know, early that day it fried?

And now the screen is black. Where's the long mesm'rizing show?
I'm left, weep, standing here, no last, last episode.
Won't leave me waiting here. TV's good next door.

(Instrumental)

They took their RV back, on the long winding road.
They left home driving there, a long, long time ago.
Did that cop see me here, breaking in their door?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
___________

"Hey man, all right
Are you going to post my bail
Tonight?"

(Guitar solos)

And in the end
The show they made
Aint equal to this three to eight.
The moral of the story is no TV show is worth three to eight years in the slammer, especially in this age of TV episodes being posted to the internet the next day. Check out more Lost song parodies at: Lost: The Rock Opera

No TV on finale night - there's a nightmarish thought! I too wrote a song to commemorate the then-impending ending - http://www.amiright.com/parody/70s/donmclean162.shtml . A very cathartic way to come to grips with my favorite show concluding!
