Parody Song Title:

"Jester Day"

Parody Written by:

Patrick McWilliams

The Lyrics

In the spirit of "Hey, Jude" ("Take a sad song, and make it better"), I thought I would work my magic on this classic lament of lost love. If not better, it's at least different.
Jester Day, great comedians from far away
Come to this secluded hide-away
It's time again for Jester Day

Annually, every funny man celebrity
In the spirit of comraderie
At Jester Day, mix casually

I just love to go
Catch a show, relax and play
Laughter from the throng
A bawdy song? It's Jester Day

Jovially, all my colleagues there to welcome me
Yes, I started singing parody
A couple drinks inside of me

Now, I have to go
Where's the john? The mime won't say
I'll do something wrong
Won't someone please point the way?

Jester Day. It's my favorite yearly get away
The time is up, wish we could stay
We'll meet again, next Jester Day

I'd love to attend this, but the same mimes won't tell me when and where it is! ;D

My dad would have been 87 today. He was a bit of a poet himself. I hope he may be up there looking down and getting a bit of laugh out of this one.

TT: I think that claim is jester-fied!

Patrick: This is a great parody, and I would attend such a convention, assuming I could afford the gas to wherever it's located. 555

Tommy, Martin Luther King was a great American who fought to gain freedom for people whose rights were denied. In his honor, the Federal and most State governments close for one day each year. America needs more men like Doctor King, about 364 more by my estimation.
