Parody Song Title:

"Poor Kids In Woods"

Parody Written by:

Alvin Rhodes

The Lyrics

...a hansel and gretel parody...
this poor boy and girl
were sent away
mercilessly
shipped off to their doom
step-mom no good
poor kids in woods

wee bread crumbs were laid
but they saw not a scrap anywhere
the birds had come 'round
and they pecked up the scatterings there

so on they did trudge
and after time
old witch, they find
house strangely construed
all gingerbread
inside, they're led

she told them the oven was warming
and in there, they'd land
they told her, "no kidding?"
and shoved her right in, as they'd planned

then the old witch croaked
wicked old crone
now only bones
yeah, they lit a fire
cooked her up good
poor kids in woods

When I was a kid, I always saw me and my bro as Hansel and Gretel. As a matter of fact, I still do. Sometimes, my mom would act like the kids' mother/stepmother in the story because she would work us like dogs and would have tempers whenever in a bad mood. I haven't heard this OS for a long time, but you chose the perfect OS that fits the story. Worked well! Here's some enchanted 5's for this enchanted tale!

Alvin, Master of the Beatles Parody, turns to this "Grimm" topic and nails it. 5-5-5! ;D

If these tales were movies, they'd be R-rated for violence - sick, sick, sick; five, five, five.

Another fairy tale and another Beatles' OS; great job, Alvin.

Very good job of pointing out how fairy tales perpetuate "witch profiling."

E-HE-HE-HE-HE my pretties - oops wrong witch and wrong storyline. I love it when the witches get it in the end or sometimes the beginning as in OZ. Sometimes people like witches are so evil that you have to drop a house on 'em just to get their attention. A FAIRlY good tale you have spun here again sir Alvin - Watch for it this week - I have another Bates on the burner.

All that gingerbread eating made me hungry - think I'll fix a sand-witch. Bewitching parody, Here eat these gingerbread 5s.
