I, er, cooked this one up this morning. [01-17-09] Coming up with my lyrics was smooth sailing, except for the stupid bridge-section.
Pacing note: "Chew 'em" is pronounced as one syllable.
Well, we went to see a flick
It went fine, 'til my chick
Said, "Let's get some eats"; I told my lady fair,
"No, I'd rather hit AM/PM, (Oh)
Than the popcorn stand in there"

At the fairgrounds, we got
Some franks, nice'n'hot
She offered "One more?", but I said, "No, I swear...
I couldn't stomach another (Ohh...)
From the hot dog stand in there"

Well, my heartburn looms
As, Rolaids, I chew 'em
But my girlfriend seems just fine

But, it brightened my day
When we stopped for a latte
It may not have been Starbucks, but I didn't care
Now I sure could go for another (Joe)

Well done. Except I have to say, while movies often let me down, the popcorn NEVER does. Still, a pleasant, well-written read. And "chew-em" worked just fine for me.
