Fine tribute to many successful Black Americans. And yes I have a Foreman grill. It's great and I think he made more cash from his food preparation enterprises than he ever did from boxing. So this can either fight about writing or write about fighting. Works good fer me. Fine write Alvin.

No fight required to write "555" for this one, about which my only whine is Archie Moore's absence--he's the only one of the great black fighters I actually saw fight in person, tho' I did collect Joe Louis's autograph at a Pirates game at Forbes Field back in the early '50s. Very nice man: some men -- ushers or body guards, I guess -- tried to shoo me away as I approached, but Joe said, "C'mon, now, let th' kid thru' ... " and signed my program with a big smile and a handshake.BR>BR> BTW, I see we did the same song today, but without much thematic overlap. :-)

You could have done one on Famous Black Fivers too. Then you'd have three... er, you do have three. Fivers, I mean.

I was going to read this for Black History Month, but oh, well. I enjoyed it a lot. I loved the way you interchanged the black writers/fighters in this parody. Yep, I used to watch boxing a while back, esp. when Tyson bit off Holyfield's ear. Can't seem to forget about that. Great read, great write....and great fight! 555.

Sir Alvin, ~ Mighty duke 0'Dice ~ let's not forget Eldridge Cleaver, a loca(L) NorCAL author of SOUL ON ICE; it's only 100 pages, but a very powerful read , indeed !
