Original Song Title:

"Blackbird"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Blackbeard Pirate says, 'Prepare to Die'"

Parody Written by:

Paul Robinson

The Lyrics

Blackbeard Pirate says, "Prepare to die"
from the yardarms swing several dead guys
Gone; their lives
Now you're contemplating who at home
will tell your wife

You'll be swinging from your neck; you sigh
Sad; these drunken pirates rule the seas
Now your plight
Plank; it now awaits you
you will stroll into the deep

Plank waits - guy
Dark fate - nigh
Will be your plight to go off the side

[instrumental break]

Watch birds fly...
"Blaggard...die"
Last words you'll hear in your lifetime, guy...

[brief instrumental out to long pause]
[Silence, except for bird noises]

Next you're sinking to your dreaded plight
then you'll choke and sink down; then you'll die
Life flies by -
Davey Jones awaits you
at the ocean floor he lies
He's anticipating you
it won't be a surprise
Now you hear him saying
"You be home, now matey, aye..."

Thanks, all. alvin, I think we've both been working with Beatles stuff, particularly "White Album" tunes. Plus I understand "Blackbeard" has been in the news lately, too. Guy! Thought you were long-gone from here...hadn't seen any hide nor hair of you in quite some time. I'm not sure how often I'll be posting, but I plan to once in a while.

I really liked that one, Paul. Plus, it has that nice almost casual tone to it in the music. 5's
