The Lyrics

#2 in my Simpsons collection. A little ditty about two sad people.
Ah, look at all the yellow children
Ah, look at all the yellow children

Edna Krabappel
Teaches Bart Simpson at Springfield Elementary
Master’s degreed
Bitter divorcee
Puffs on her cigarette watching the kids from the door
Jaded and bored

All the yellow children
How can they be so dumb?
All the yellow children
Where did her life go wrong?

Principal Skinner
Tries to keep order with children who don’t want to hear
Devoid of cheer
Vietnam Vet’ran
Picked up his name when his sergeant was killed over there
His nom de guerre

All the yellow children
How can they be so dumb?
All the yellow children
Where did his life go wrong?

Ah, look at all the yellow children
Ah, look at all the yellow children

Edna Krabappel
Comes on to Skinner as hard as a woman can flirt
Hikes up her skirt
Principal Skinner
Tells her he can’t because mother thinks she is depraved
Seymour behave!

All the yellow children
How can they be so dumb?
All the yellow children
Where did their lives go wrong?

Brilliantly done - so is "Skinner" a nom de guerre, then? Who says amiright isn't an educational resource?

Matt - Wow. Evoking imagery is more in the realm of poetry than parody. I think that's the highest complement I've received on AmIRight.

Phil - In one of the episodes, it was revealed that his real name is Armin Tamzarian. Check out the Wikipedia article on Skinner for that story.

Jack, Al, Peregrin, Chuck - Thanks.

Forgot about Martin, did you? Doesn't matter, this is good. Keep it up.

Thanks, Jake. Do you mean Martin Prince, the brainy kid? I am thinking about doing one on him to Prince's "My Name is Prince" called "I'm Martin Prince" But that is a looooong song.
Jake - August 16, 2007 - Report this comment
Yeah, I was talking about Martin Prince.

I can really identify with Edna Krabappel. All those dozy kids she teaches!
McKludge - August 29, 2007 - Report this comment
Pickle - Thanks. But where did it start? Are kids bored because of disinterested teachers, or are teachers jaded because of bored kids?
