Parody Song Title:

"Lady Husqvarna"

Parody Written by:

Susanna Viljanen

The Lyrics

Lady Husqvarna, machine that sews just all
fabrics and the leather which you may recall
Be it just satin, jeans or cotton sheet -
that machine can all those fabrics nicely treat

My mom suggested me to buy a Singer
my granny told me get a Bernina
My auntie said it's Eva what is best, dear
but mine's Husqvarna -

Lady Husqvarna, needle and the thread
Just now press the pedal and you sow and mend!
(pa - pa -pa...)

Lady Husqvarna, even sowing tent
Think that Swedish machine is just heaven-sent!

Tuesday afternoon it's jeans and T-shirt
Wednesday it is dress which is to be done
Thursday night it's mending that old black skirt
Sewing is fun!

Lady Husqarna, even leather bag
doesn't make you stutter and won't make you gag!

Seems clever, Susanna, but how the heck do you pronounce "Husqvarna"? would it be "Husk-vaar-nah"?
Susanna Viljanen - November 03, 2006 - Report this comment
Paul, the Swedish pronunciation is "whose-kvar-nah", but I think "husk-var-nah" will do just as well. I bought my sewing machine when I was in high school, and it has served me well all these years.

OK...just more of a "ooh" sound in the first syllable than my speculation...OK, that works fine here...5's, and thanks for the small bit of education, I can use a bit of that now and then ~ ~ ~

We have Husqvarna's here, that was what attracted me to the parody in the first place! Good one! I wonder if this is the first ever parody about a sewing machine?

Now I understand all the sewing machine jokes I've heard about Husqvarna motorcrossers. Good stuff, and a unique subject matter.
