Parody Song Title:

"Ode to Beer"

Parody Written by:

Peter Andersson a.k.a K1chyd

The Lyrics

I'm back for another round...
Ode to beer
It's a beverage found far and near
Hit the local pub and commandeer
October's here, it's time for beer

Ode to beer
Through the working week I'll persevere
Then I'll let myself be less austere
And raise this praise, an ode to beer

Why it tastes so good, I don't know, I cannot say
Watered down or strong, it's served worldwide everyday

Ode to beer
It's the final liquid frontier
Makes it look like all the women leer
Oh, hear my praise, this ode to beer

Why it's best served cold, I don't know, I cannot say
Hear this drinking song, as I'm spirited away

Ode to beer
It can make you upfront and sincere
It's been fuel for many pamphleteers
I've joined them with this ode to beer

Mm, mm, mm, mm.....
Blaaaaaaaargh!!!

(SOTM) pamphleteers!! LOL - I bet that's a first for that word on amiright - ah, this brings back memories of your glorious "Yesterday" community-quilt on the MB, Peter - remember we were going to send the finished result to Paul? - although I think maybe his attention is otherwise occupied at the moment - I have very fond memories of Scandinavian beers, esp. Tuborg, Carlsberg, and Skol (?) - I spent time in Gotheberg (sp?) but not Stockholm, and I once spent a wonderful night in a restaurant overlooking the river there, working thru the beer list to a Swedish drinking game (involving spoons) - thanks for the memories! - 555

(SOTM) Is that Blaaaaaaaargh!!! what I think it is? Oh my! Such a good song until then... J/K. Wonderful stuff.

(SOTM) See above, and kudos for out-rhyming TOS in the first two verses. Loved the "final liquid frontier" line; that would make a good intro for a Star Trek spoof ("Beer Trek: The Next Intoxication" perhaps?...). Timely as well, and this brought back fond memories of the "Jesterdays" thread.

SOTM - Sorry to rain on your Oktoberfest but I don't know if this could be called one of your best. It's done well, and more or less matches the OS for pacing, but it just doesn't hit me like a lot of the others this month.
