Parody Song Title:

The Lyrics

Pretty self-explanatory, except for the brand names from central Europe. Martiner and Zlaty Bazant (ZLAH-tee BAH-zahnt) are from Slovakia, while Zywiec (ZHIV-yets) and Okocim (oh-KOH-cheem) are from Poland. Speaking of which, as they say in Poland, na zdrowie!
Heineken and Miller Light, Corona, Busch,
These brands we drink together
Find us a bar, drink beer from a jar, this one's on me
I'm buying

Sitting on a bar stool, waiting for another round
Corporation pub crawl, man, I love this happy
Hour, I've been a naughty boy, my glass is empty now
I am the drinker, we are the drinkers
I am the beer man, chug-chug-a-lug

Mister city p'liceman standing
Ugly drunkards in a lineup row
See how they fall like pins hit by a ball, see how they drop
I'm sighing, no lying
I'm sighing, no lying

Foamy little bubbles, that's what gives the beer its head
Sitting in a beer joint, such a friendly waitress
Nothing like a pretty girl who wears her skirt so short
I am the drinker, we are the drinkers
I am the beer man, chug-chug-a-lug

Sitting in an English tavern waiting for some ale
You can get yourself a black and tan
By mixing Harp and Guiness stout
I am the drinker, we are the drinkers
I am the beer man, chug-chug-a-lug

Martiner and Zlaty Bazant
Zywiec and Okocim, I like, too
Travel around, more beers I have found
I'll drink them all
I'm trying

Take some malted barley, mix it with the choicest hops
Use the coldest water flowing from the Rockies
Man, they just arrested Coors for driving while he's drunk
I am the drinker, we are the drinkers
I am the beer man, chug-chug-a-lug ch'chug-chug-a-lug
Chug-chug-a-lug ch'chug-chug-a-lug
(repeat until thoroughly plastered)

This was great! (And even if it wasn't, I'd still give ya 5's just for using the word "beer joint" - hee hee; you're not from Ohio, are ya?)

No, Mer, I'm not from Ohio. Is there some Ohioan definition of "beer joint" that I might be unaware of?

Sto lat! (For mentioning Poland's ways of making Germany jealous.)
Meriadoc - August 17, 2006 - Report this comment
Steve, no, it is just that 'beer joint' is the normal everyday term for a bar in Ohio, at least among the over 50s crowd. It's sorta in there with 'pop', 'davenport' and going 'down celler'... :-)

One of the best "Walrus" parodies I've encountered. I would encourage you to enter Song of The Month with this one. Paces great, much laughing! 555
