Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"If You See..."

Parody Written by:

Phil Alexander

The Lyrics

One minor pronunciation note: the person singing this obviously doesn't know how to pronounce the Greek letter Chi: for the second verse to work, you really need to sing it out loud as "Tch-eye" (like the first syllable of China) rather than "Ki" (if you see what I mean).
When I find that I'm in more than trouble
I need to see Kay, you see
But when I can't find her, ask Edie

Then my whole predicament
Is spelled out right in front of me
When I try to find her, Kay, Edie

If you see Kay, Edie
If you see Kay, Edie
Things ain't going well, so if you see... (Kay, Edie)

And when all my statistics homework's
On the desk in front of me
I don't know the answer, if you see
Equations are for mystics, so I'll
Be in the essay Chi-T
Please tell me the answer, Kay, Edie

If you see Kay, Edie
If you see Kay, Edie
In the essay Chi-T, if you see... (Kay, Edie)

And on the TV there's a man, says
Have you seen our chimpanzee?
Maybe I should tell him, if you see...
'Cause you know that he's asking
Can anyone see our ape, he
Looks like he's escaping, Kay, Edie

If you see Kay, Edie
If you see Kay, Edie
See, our ape he vanished, if you see... (Kay, Edie)

If you see Kay, Edie
If you see Kay, Edie
And I'll see you, Auntie , if you see... (Kay, Edie)

Let 'em be Phil, the drugs that is, WTHeck is this song about? I don't get it at all. (OK, so I'm having a me-so-stupid day, but anyway).

If you don't get it, try singing it out loud.. and anyone who can spell in the room might just see what I'm on about ;-)

I get the feeling that practically the whole parody was made up of plays on words and I got just one. : ) Good one!

Pat, if it's a play on words you're after, I'll give you one anytime ;-)

OMGoodness! The moment I got to the second line where I read "see Kay" I knew what I was in for! Very imaginative, Phil :) I thought the Chi-T bit was very clever.

Funnier sung then read, to be sure. That "Chi-T" gag goes a long way...
