What they have in Paris seems to be a lot of 14-, 15-, 16-year old boys going beserk in public places and the media going wild by declaring a second French revolution (and in some cases going nostalgic about the Paris student uprising of 68). If the first boys who started all this had gone beserk in school the authorities would just have called their mums to a parent meeting and had them grounded for a couple of weeks without any official reply. Now, instead of sending 15000 cops to "neutralize" the situation, wouldn't it have been easier to just call all the mums to a public meeting and asking them to restrain their kids? (I'm just thinking out loud here).
