Parody Song Title:

"Hell"

Parody Written by:

Alvin Rhodes

The Lyrics

hell...you need christ's body
hell...yes, his blood and body
hell...you know you need the son
hell

when i was younger
so much younger than today
it was believed by everybody
hell was where i'd stay
but now my sins are gone
my future is assured
now i find...more peace of mind
i'll enter heaven's door

hell just ain't my plan
i'm heaven-bound
and i sure appreciate that thorny crown
hell is raining fire beneath the ground
if you see...see hell...flee !

and now my life has changed
i've stopped my evil ways
an inner deep sense says
i'm banished from the blaze
and when i bow my head
it makes me feel secure
i know that i...won't feel the spikes
of pitchforks by the score

hell just ain't my plan
i'm heaven-bound
and i sure appreciate that thorny crown
hell is raining fire beneath the ground
if you see...see hell...flee !

when i was younger
so much younger than today
it was believed by everybody
hell was where i'd stay
but now my sins are gone
my future is assured
now i find...more peace of mind
i'll enter heaven's door

hell just ain't my plan
i'm heaven-bound
and i sure appreciate that thorny crown
hell is raining fire beneath the ground
if you see...see hell...flee...hell ?...flee....hell...flee?...oh

"banished from the blaze" one of many fine, fiery, fives-worthy lines.

Great pacing, and great lines. I liked it, alvin.

You might have considered changing the third verse into something else, because in the original, the first and third verse are identical as well. I gave you a 545, but I've noticed that if you vote a 4 for funny, people will think that you will not have liked it, and that a 4 might mean that the parody is lacking somewhere. This is not the case.

You should go to confession for that "I sure appreciate that thorny crown" line. Just kidding. I see evidence everywhere that there is a God and he does have a sense of humor.

Pretty good, sir. I hope that you mean what you wrote -- except for one thing. Be careful not to commit the deadly sin of "presumption" -- thinking "once saved, always saved." That heresy has always been condemned (and never believed) by the church that Jesus founded. There is plenty of evidence in the Bible that presumption is wrong. In other words, even someone who is God's best friend today could stab him in the back tomorrow (or years from now) and end up very far from heaven in the afterlife.

Alvin, I missed this one somehow, but it's fine; I appreciate what you've said here.
