The Lyrics

I was just sitting around thinking about the late Bob Denver this evening....So...what if "Gilligan's Island" had been handled a different way...? And now Gilligan's explaining how things happened to work out....It may be a "Sexist' story...but at least it's not Political...lol...
{Brief instrumental intro}

Went out to sea, man
some folks on a three-hour tour
storm; then it seized us
and took us a long way from land, sir

Then I said, "Hey-ayay, Skipper
I see an island - there"
Got stuck there rea-ea-eal long
did without
just hung out

{Brief instrumental break}

There was this actress
Ginger, and red was her mane
was lusted after
by all us guys; wanted that dame, yeah

Then she said, "Hey-ayay, Mister
walk me over there"
I felt my ton-onnngue
drop right out
of my mouth

{Instrumental Break}

{Elongated moaning sounds where the "Ah-ah-aah-aah- aaah-aaaah" part is}

Tried to squeeze her
she giggled and slapped back my hand
She said, "I am pure
I never have been with a man"...Wow!

I did not bee-ee-ee-lieve her
Pawed her with my hands
She drove a ri-ii-ii-iiight cross
to my mouth
I said, "Ouch"

{Brief Instrumental break}

{Gilligan's rubbing at his jaw and going "Ouch" a time or two}

Then, Skipper
I kissed her, yeah
Was bliss, sure
Now I'm a "Dad'...

{Fade}

Yeah, JB...and the next thing Gilligan told the Skipper at the end there was, "One thing more, Skipper...uhh...Ginger says to tell you to stop calling me 'Little Buddy', 'cuz it just isn't true..."

Hey, maybe next a re-write of the "Dobie Gillis"..."WORK?"...well, maybe...hmmm....of course, that was a pretty clever show to begin with. The premise really wasn't all that bad and it really did break more than a little new ground...introduced some different types of characters in "Maynard G. Krebs" (the late Bob Denver, of course) and to some extent "Zelda Gilroy" (current California Assemblywoman, Sheila Kuehl, BTW)...actually recognized that something called "Jazz" actually existed...'Dobie' (Dwayne Hickman) often stepped outside himself and did a bit of narrative overview...a lot more innovation than most of today's "Sitcom's" shows...it had some "real" laughs...and also a somewhat a somewhat different perspective on the life and times of America in that period...Thanks, guys ~ ~ ~

The idea of Gilligan getting anywhere with Ginger is only slightly more ridiculous than the Elmer Fudd/mack daddy parodies. Mary Ann might have gone for him... No! I got it! "Professor," says Ginger, "I'll give you a (expletive deleted) if you build us a boat that'll get us out of here!" That wouldn't have made it onto the air in 1964, but it would've made Tina Louise the Jenna Jameson of her day.
Paul Robinson - September 26, 2005 - Report this comment
Aw, gee, Michael...so you don't think Gilligan would have had any chance with Ginger? Well, my "alternative" scenario COULD have allowed for Gilligan to have a little more agressive personality...or maybe somewhat of a "split" personality...thanks!

funny stuff, Paul, but I have documentation disproving your claim that "Ginger was lusted after by all us guys"
