The Lyrics

In a gal-axy I know, far, far, away, long time ago
Was a war, of good and bad, of a farm boy, and his Dad
And we fly, throughout the stars, until we find, the Rebel's scene
Then we fight, on the Death Star, all for Emperor, Palpatine

We all work for Emperor Palpatine, Emperor Palpatine, Emperor Palpatine
We all work for Emperor Palpatine, Emperor Palpatine, Emperor Palpatine

All my friends, are troopers too, and a lot of them, just can't shoot
So we al-ways seem to lose.
We all work for Emperor Palpatine, Emperor Palpatine, Emperor Palpatine
We all work for Emperor Palpatine, Emperor Palpatine, Emperor Palpatine

That's the way, It's always been, conquering planets, we never seen
Planet Hoth, and Tatooine, for that Emperor, Palpatine

We all work for Emperor Palpatine, Emperor Palpatine, Emperor Palpatine
We all work for Emperor Palpatine, Emperor Palpatine, Emperor Palpatine

In this one, the spirit is willing but The Force is weak.

Cute...not much you can do with this song's length, but I could envision an all Star Wars Revolver album with this as the opener. 445

Agrimorfee is both right and wrong, it's a short song to work with, but you CAN use a different layout technique to make it look longer (and yours is too compressed anyway). Also, making variations to the repeated chorus of a short song makes it look longer. Check out my take on the same TOS where I used these thing I now advocate and you'll see what I mean:

"Revolver" redone as a "Star Wars" concept album? The Jedi fight for the innocent, but who do the Sith fight for? "For No One." Luke, Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father. "I Want to Tell You." "Eleanor Rigby" would have to be redone as "Leia Organa," since "Padme Amidala" has too many syllables. "Taxman" becomes "Attacks Man," perhaps? I suppose "Doctor Robert" could become "Master Yoda," but what would we do with "I'm Only Sleeping"? The two suns of Tatooine would produce a weird version of "Good Day Sunshine," and only a true Jedi Master could properly work out "Tomorrow Never Knows" in that vein. Anyone up for it?

For "I'm Only Sleepin", Anakin could testify to his general mopiness in the ballad "I'm Only Whining".

Good one! I wonder if somebody writes lyrics to the March? To sing out loud in Imperial filk circles, like ours.

(abc4) The farce is still strong in him.

Good idea, but I would like it better if you varied the choruses, and made it look more organized

If I could re-write these lyrics, I would. But I submitted this 2 years ago, before I learned all about the magic of chorus variation.

(ABC4) Catchy! 2 years old it may be, but it's still got that Squirrely goodness.

(ABC4) great title sub, but not enough material to be LOL funny - and following up on Ag and Peter's comments, I recall Arwen doing this OS, and it was a very long and complex story-parody, so maybe the interpretation of the OS is in the ear of the beholder - 555

(ABC4) See Stu's comment. I don't think this is your best, but it's an oldie, and I know how that is--older parodies are before you've had a chance to grow, so sorry I can't give this one horridly high marks, but you know it's no reflection of your more recent work.
