Song Parodies -> "Vote For Me 5"

Original Song Title:

"Yesterday"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Vote For Me 5"

Parody Written by:

Peter Andersson a.k.a K1chyd

The Lyrics

You're still undecided? I better keep flogging the horse
Vote for me
I'll cure SARS and AIDS and leprosy
I'll reverse your hysterectomy
Just gather up, and vote for me

Vote for me
I'll deport that Shannon Doherty
She's a threat to a community
Or two or three, just vote for me

She can cleanse a couch and take colour off a show
If you vote for me I'll remove her, quid pro quo

Vote for me
Get a heavy trucking license free
And a bitch who aced agility
Or two or three, just vote for me

Reps and Libs and Greens, for too long, have not been phat
They're as dated as hicks or Paris Hilton's twat

Vote for me
I'm no Starbucks coffee latte-ry
WYSIWYG is what you get from me
Must I say more? Now vote for me!

man, talk about a power trip!! ;-) 555

You got my vote. 455 though because " phat " and " twat " do not rhyme at all and how the hell would we sing " WYSIWYG ?. That line should have been " What you see is what you get from me " ( 9 syllables vs the 13 typed-reading the line as written is redundant ). As a master of this parody you erred a bit on this one. No retaliation at all on my part, even the masters make mistakes. :)

Red Ant...sorry mate, but you are SO wrong! In Europe (which is where Peter comes from) phat DOES rhyme with twat, and cat and mat and so on....WYSIWYG is pronounced "wissy wig" and fits perfectly. So Peter did not make any mistakes, (at least not any big ones) and I think some humble pie might need to be consumed by thyself....;-)

Kristof: It's an assault and battery thing: My muse is in assault mode, and I'm her charged up battery!

Red Ant: I'm used to pronounce WYSIWYG as a/one word, it's not easy but I guess maybe it's a tad easier with a Swedish accent (not to mention what it would sound like from an East European) and it was the IWYG four words/syllables redundancy (Hey! There's a word I'm yet to use) and the hardship in getting your tongue around that word that was supposed to be the funny in that line. Try to pronounce it yourself again and see if you can restrain yourself from laughter. ;-)

Kristof: Thanx for coming to my aid, I guess you must have posted your comments just moments after I started writing mine. And your explanation of how to pronounce it is better than mine, I've always thought about it as one word but writing it as two (wissy wig) is even better. I have no hard feelings towards Red Ant though, we've all noticed he's a bit quick to jump the gun, maybe he should call himself Red Ante. :-)

Okay, fair enough, and I'm laughing now pronouncing that as " Wussy-Wig " but " WYSIWYG " does mean what I stated before. Okay, so how do YOU pronounce "phat" and " twat" (phat here is the same as fat as in large, twat is more like " two-what " ( has more of a "AU" or "O" sound in it, like the word " Knot " or "Nautical" like "Twatical" ( a new word?))).

PS- Maybe me again but " latte-ry " seems a bit forced as well :).

I think this can be summed up in 3 words: Lost In Translation. :)

For the purposes of this parody I still am S.O.F. and have all legal and governmental power to critiicize anything I deem necessary of criticizm. :+)

PS- I realize it's " Wissy-Wig " not " Wussy Wig " and there are spelling mistakes in both comments. This has been an amusing exchange and a lesson in foreign languages ( and an amusing parody ). :)

1. I'll pronounce phat and twat exactly as Kristof said, as to rhyme with cat and bat and flat etc, but from your explanation I get flashbacks of hearing it your way in some movie or two. 2. Neologisms are fun, but I'm not sure I would like to know what a twatical mile is, or walk one in someone elses shoes. 3. The Coffee Latte / Starbucks Coffee Lottery neologism/pun with lattery don't seem streched to me, but if you say it is I'll take the heat as a man, it was worth getting my fingers burnt on. 4. Lost in translation and your right to criticize: Agreed.

Posting a picture of me on the Internet as Michael Bolton I consider slander and libel. You will be hearing from my attourney soon. ;-)

Now I'm laughing hysterically at " Twatical Mile ". I can already see some new jokes coming from that one. :)

Submit this for SOTM hehe.

I'm sure Michael Bolton feels the same way, if word gets out among his weary fans that he's too be associated with a cool place like this it could totally wreck his sales and career. Luckily, with the guilty part(y) and our fearless leader Kristof in charge of things you can both count on getting fair compensation for your suffering. :-)
Red Ant to K1chyd - May 12, 2005 - Report this comment
My deepest apologies K1chyd. Kristof is the one who posted that, so the lawsuit is dropped ( no compensation needed, as S.O.F. I get a lot of money ). :) PS- The is so funny that I'm working on a " Yesterday " parody right now. It's not great but it's dedicated to you since you got me laughing today. I shall not elaborate further. :)
