The Lyrics

This is about a real life event of Type 2 Fun. I have never feared in the air, but it is at the sea where I am downright scared. Vahine is Swan 65, a bermuda-rigged ketch. The weather was Beaufort Scale 11 at worst.
We came on the ketch Vahine
Ten other girls and me
To have a cruise to Spain and get sun and seafoam
We left at Comino isle
to sail for one thousand miles
Well I feel so broke up
I want to go home

So hoist up the Vahine's three sails
See how the main sail sets
Call for skipper Betsy and ask her
Let me go home, let me go home
I want to go home, yeah yeah
Well I feel so broke up
I want to go home

We arrived in Cagliari town¨
and we noticed our engine was down
we didn't have spares and Italian none of us spoke
But the worst was ahead
It made me feel dead
Well, I feel so broke up,
I wan't to go home

So hoist up the Vahine's three sails
See how the main sail sets
Call for skipper Betsy and ask her
Let me go home, let me go home
I want to go home, yeah yeah
Well I feel so broke up
I want to go home

When we left Sardinia behind
the skies showed us bad sign
a storm was a-coming and it caught us unawares
It raged for two days
the wind screamed on stays
This is the worst trip I've ever been on
so let me go home

We couldn't reef Vahine's mainsail
now listen how storm wind wails
the waves are ten metres high and I fear for my life
Let me go home, let me go home
I want to go home, let me go home
Why don't you let me go home

She sailed like a bat out the Hell
the log did us twelve knots tell
but when I was at wheel I was scared as I just could be
It was too hard to cook
we all had scared look
I'm sure I will die, so skipper,
I wan't to go home

So hoist up the Vahine's three sails
See how the main sail sets
Call for skipper Betsy and ask her
Let me go home, let me go home
I want to go home, yeah yeah
Well I feel so broke up
I want to go home

When we finally got to Spain
I swore I will never again
set my foot on a boat and never more sail
but it didn't come true -
it was fun of Type Two
we made it alive and I saw -
I don't want to go home!
