The Lyrics

Herman Cain was the name and he came from a pizza chain
Straw poll in Forida aimed to shore up his slack campaign
With a glimmer of hope alive, he'd be lucky to barely survive
The day was tense, (as) Rickster was felled
On his ride to November, twenty-twelve

The knight that stole Rick Perry's crown
And the polls were stinging
The knight that made Mitt Romney frown
And the lib'rals were singing
They went, "Nah, nah, nah..."

Back in my life of misery, the outcome was on TV:
"Herman whipped Per-ry', and stuck it to Mitt Rom-ney'"
They should do time, robbin' hoods, 'cause the dolts swear that our money's no good
We ache and we bleed and we feel distressed
'Cause they have severed our fate with their scary quest

The right got hosed as Rick went down
And their clothes were wringing
The right exposed as Mitt was drowned
And all the lib'rals were singing
They went, "Hah, hah, hah..."

Like Godfather's, he's cookin', vies to spur demand
Unlike the brother before him, to heal a troubled land
Perry cussed and screamed, loud and grave, took a tanking as his lead was shaved
He glared at the club that made him bleed
He can't make that Cain back off when he's in the lead

The knife that clove old Rick's renown
And the smells were clinging
The strife that slowed old Romney down
And all the lib'rals were singing
They went, "Rah, rah, rah..."

The knight that stole Rick Perry's crown
And all the polls were stinging
The knight that made Mitt Romney frown
And the lib'rals were singing
They went, "Nah, nah, nah..."

Well crafted insight into Republican politics as the party struggles to find an uninspiring nominee even Obama could beat. My predicition. The media has already nominated Romney. Perry will be kept around for soundbites that can be twisted around to make him and/or conservatism look bad. The rest will be ignored.

Good choice of OS for the demise of a Southerner. I was inspired by Herman Cain last October in Richmond VA, and rated him tops in http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/allansherman39.shtml last January ("He's twice you.")

Patrick, it's not over until a Party nomination next year, so we'll see. Am pissed that Perry came in when Bachmann was gaining and now she's off to the side as the boys debate endlessly. I don't think Cain has a chance b/c of his background and race at a time when most Americans hate Obama. Old White men with gray hair and gray areas of politics are gone too and the young guys lack experience one way or another. However, don't count anyone out yet and we still don't know who will join the candidates next....
