The Lyrics

over time i think that franklin roosevelt was slowin'
from his...maladies
and when he cashed it in, they sent the vice-prez right to work
this curse must...fall to he

and then along comes harry
and it is ass, he's gonna kick, and beat those lunatics
and make it stick, eternally
forever ever after, laughter reigns
there's no more pain and tribulations
no insanity

when he said...i will not...pass the buck
these weren't empty threats, cause indeed he had pluck

where there is ire, there is fire, there's a world to fix, its sickness
must be...kept at bay
and if the whole brigade is slayed in craters, choked with smoke
who's left to...save the day ?

and then along comes harry
and he just wants us to be free and to achieve democracy
a scapegoat must be blamed
and how he struggled much, when told if an atomic touch occurred
it would shorten up the game

when he said...i will not...pass the buck
these weren't empty threats, cause indeed he had pluck

and then one morning, with a warning, passed, they massed and act, they did
the cloud rose...to the stars
there's certain trauma after bombs are dumped, the landscape sure does jump
there's damage...wide and far

and then along comes harry
he didn't crack up from the strain, the dead remains, or bleak terrain
he shortened up the war
only then they realized, he'd gotten wise, and had them pulverized
their urgent cries..."we'll fight no more"

when he said...i will not...pass the buck
these weren't empty threats, cause indeed he had pluck
'deed he had pluck...'deed he had pluck....'DEED HE HAD PLUCK !

Fabulous job on a tough one to parody. Great internal rhyming. 5s!

HIstory lesson in a funny parody? Not a bomb, for sure!.. this is very "true, man". As JB said, good job matching the OS's tricky internal rhymes. 555
BTW, some thought the OS "Mary" referred to marijuana. Whatever it is that's inspiring, keep doin' it!

Nice job, alvin...and 'Thanks' for reminding us of a President who knew about assuming responsibility for his actions and being accountable to the people he was elected to serve. It is a continuing disappointment and continuing source of disgust that the current White House occupant has not accepted responsibily for all but a small number of his mis-steps and outright failures. Instead, he continually attempts to shift blame or make lame excuses...it's sad...the most powerful nation in the world led by a spoiled, arrogrant twerp...with the additional annoying habit of tossing around a lot of agressive sounding big talk...that other folks end up having to back up...sometimes with their lives...guess that's enough rant for today...Jeez, what was your parody about, anyway?

At first I thought this was yet another parody about that lawyer who got shot. (his name was Harry, right? if not, disregard this opening paragraph...)

Anywoo, as said above great job on the internal rhyming and for making history interesting. 5s.

Thought this was gonna be another one about Cheney's hunting time, but it's a really good historical parody. 5's

I read this to Pa Turtle, who was involved in The Big Show (WWII), (he's 80+ and couldn't read it himself), and he thought it was very fine. Now, there's a compliment from an informed source!

Nice job, Alvin. One down, 42 to go. And even if you make it, I did it first, including this one: http://www.amiright.com/parody/80s/bobbymcferrin7.shtml
