Parody Song Title:

"Tanned By Your Can"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Sometimes the sun is sorta' lazy
There are no ultra violet rays around
These are bad days,
Real "Make you mad" days
Composure could become unwound
But, don't go native,
Just be creative
Show Ma Nature that you will not be bound
A consolation,
Is your salvation
Alternatives in stores are found.

Tanned By Your Can
Give her brown arms to cling to
Deep bronze the spray will bring you,
When days are dark and cloudy..

Tanned By Your Can
She'll cuddle close and hold you
And give you all the love you planned
Tanned By Your Can

Tanned By Your Can
Her passion will enfold you
Don't be an old white, "Also Ran"
(Get) Tanned..By..Your..Ca-a-an

As anyone who reads my comments or AFW knows, I am a natural redhead and thus do not tan, so much of the lyrics are over my head, but I like Tammy Wynette, the pacing is near-identical, as most Airfarcewon parodies are, so 5s. XOXOXO, Andria

Being an Aussie, I was born with a natural healthy bronze glow...;-) This was cute, AFW

Thanks, Andria... but, I didn't think the lyrics were complicated...and thanks, Kristof, and alvin, and Walt

I CAN't say enough good things about this

Another super-good switch from the Stand-master, which makes the pacing glitches rather surprising (lines 2, 5, 8, 9). 455, and let me know if I'm off-base here.

What can I say some people just can't sTANd the sun, like Andria. Fortunately I have enough Italian blood in me that I usually tan nicely especially in the South Texas summers which at times get so hot that your car can burn rubber without even moving. Real cute parody AFW. TANfastic! Here's three bottles of number 5 sun screen for your efforts and your skin.

Thanks, PMS, and TT,,,technically, you're right, but the way Tammy used to sing it, words like, "Givin" and "Doin" were almost sung as one syllable..the original line, "But, if you love him" has five and matches my line, but line 10 might be a syllable off...the trouble sometimes lies with different versions of the lyrics...sometimes they'll vary a syllable or two..but, all in all, I guess I won't lose too much sleep over it...

No question about that (variation in lyrics and singers)... and you know TOS much better than I do. Was just comparing to Web lyrics -- shouldn't have. Pay no attention to the pedantic Turtle behind the curtain.

Thanks, Guy...Clever puns, there...and TT..No, I welcome a little adverse criticism, especially from someone with your expertise...and I know turtles always have the real lowdown...

Yeah.... weird coincidences abound... another great version, AFW... so funny I (wait for it) "Can't stand it!)... anxiously awaiting your next installment, but fear Tammy may have 'put a spell on you'.... (shudder!)

You were right and I was wrong: There is especially a lot of variation in "country", due to the Southern drawl and the contracting or expanding of syllables. Give me a couple of days to make it up to you -- maybe Thursday, as I've already submitted two for Wednesday. (Don't argue -- it's already written; it was a quick change from something I wrote but hadn't submitted yet; and I like it much better than its original draft :)
