The Lyrics

I didn't know that the dreidel could also be used in gambling - something to feed the addiction
My Part

Dreidel vice, playing dice
Given warning, you beat me
Fall each night, Shin's (*) not right
Run to Pappy to feed me
Snake eyes I throw, I see goons who show
Loom with blow, misstep here
Dreidel vice, playing dice
Guess I'm thrown, banned forever

My Family Sings

All contrite, we don't bite
You're hooked, snappy and pleading
Losing your dough, you just squirm, still owe
Fume and crow endeavor
Dreidel vice, playing dice
Stress and foaming but deaf ear
* Shin is the side of the dreidel that has you put coins into the pot when it comes up, while the other sides either do nothing or allow you pull coins out of the pot

I burst out laughing when I saw the title!

In a similar vein, I did a parody of Neil Young's "Needle and the Damage Done" called "Dreidle and the Damage Done" about a little Jewish girl who keeps losing her allowance because of her addiction to the Dreidle game

What JAB said. Tons of "spins" (ouch!) on TOS, because it's short and easy, so coming up with an original and clever one gets kudos. Perhaps there's a Gambler's Anonymous meeting at the synagogue? ;) 555

Short but full of sweet goodness! Having first interpreted 'shins' as being the front part of the leg, I had a different picture in my head at first for the line 'Fall each night, Shin's (*) not right' - and both meanings made me laugh. This pays out a 555 :^)

Very fun parody. And great use of a limited space

Tahnks, Glen and Wendy. Wendy, I hadn't thought about the leg shin, but it does surprisingly fit.

Sounds like the goons are ready to break his shins. He must dread all.

How much did you lose betting on the dreidel? "Och, better you shouldn't ask!"
