Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

ratzinger
he's the man
the man with the papal touch
they love him much
he's joe ratzinger
beckons you
to give up a life of sin
he'll reel you in

latin words he will pour in your ear
though the meaning may not be too clear
john paul two had to go
how we'll miss him
but upon his death
it's mister...

ratzinger
catholic world
prepares for a brand new pope
to give them hope

on the balcony, he will appear
and the crowd will go crazy and cheer
john paul two had to go
how we'll miss him
but upon his death
its mister...

ratzinger
catholic world
prepares for a brand new pope
to give them hope
he's been named the pope
he's the pope
he's no dope
he's been named the pope
he's no dope
he's the pope !

Excellent, Alvin. My favorite lines:

latin words he will pour in your ear
though the meaning may not be too clear

"So, Ratzinger, I suppose you expect me to talk?"

"No-o-o, Mister Bond, I expect you to PRAY !!"

"He's no dope"? That remains to be seen... Though I'd almost be willing to convert if Benedict XVI told a certain phony Christian, "Goodbye, Mister Bush!" (as opposed to "...Mister Bond!")

he's joe ratzinger
beckons you
to give up a life of sin

From Pacholek: "'He's no dope'? That remains to be seen." No it doesn't remain to be seen. It has been seen, by anyone with eyes open, for over 20 years, during which time Cardinal Ratzinger was Pope John Paul's "right hand man" in the area of Catholic doctrine (faith and morality). He was even an "expert" (advisor to his bishop) at the Second Vatican Council (1962-65) -- then Archbishop of Munich. Can't be a "dope" to do those things. He is considered one of the most brilliant theologians in the world today. Besides that, I have seen him interviewed and know him as a humble, quiet man who loves to smile. He doesn't have to prove his intelligence to the world by saying something negative about specific politicians. Ironically, it's actually time for Pacholek to prove that HE'S not a dope. Some of his parodies have hinted that he may be one.

Miss Lurker: Yes, you CAN be a dope do to those things. After all, Richard Nixon was highly intelligent, but he did many dopey things. And Ratzinger is to his right. (Don't laugh, Nixon signed the Democratic-sponsored EPA without complaint and worked on health issues.) Ratzinger is one of the most brilliant theologians in the world today? So is Marion G. (Pat) Robertson, the founder of the "Christian" Coaliation which has poisoned our body politic and the great cozier to African dictators Botha (white supremacist) and Mobutu (black supremacist) because of the money he could make in diamonds. If Ratzinger is so humble, he wouldn't have gotten himself elected Pope. Read Maureen Dowd's column in the April 23 NY Times, and you'll see that Joey the Rat is the Vatican's Dick Cheney. And one more thing: Zaccheus was a tax collector, yet Jesus happily had dinner with him. Roll THAT in your joint and smoke it, twerp!
