The Lyrics

Remember Shelly Fabares from the 1960's TV sitcom,The Donna Read Show? She recorded this song in another shameless studio effort to turn one of its actors into a signing teen idol. This one actually went high on the charts, unlike her co-star's, Paul Peterson, similar tryst into teen musical stardom' "My Dad" which incidentally (plug) I have also parodied under the same title. This one however, is all about greed: waiting for a relative to die and gain an inheritance. Enjoy.Eye1
Auntie Jane's Will

Oh Auntie Jane's will, Oh Auntie Jane's will, Oh Auntie Jane's will
You're my cash cow, hope-full-y

Oh Auntie Jane's will, end-of- life whim
Please leave me money, so I can subsist
All my brothers knows that I-I-I 'm her best

Auntie Jane's will, how I want some
I'll get single, soon as the ink is dry
Every time I say "let go", the bitch refuses to die

CHORUS
(I'm in heaven) She got buried today
I seem to care you see, if I'm named the sole trustee
(Many others) scrawl a will, when it's so very late
But I won't sit and wait, here's my paper mate
Oh Auntie Jane's will (Auntie Jane's will)
Cause' I'm named in (cause I'm named in)
And I'll say that somehow, she just loved me
And together, we will see, my shameless treach-er-y

(I'm in heaven) She got buried today
I seem to care you see, if I'm named the sole trustee
(Many others) scrawl a will when it's so very late
But I won't sit and wait, here's my paper mate
Oh Auntie Jane's will (Auntie Jane's will)
Cause' I'm named in (cause' I'm named in)
And I'll say that somehow, she just loved me
And together, we will see, my shameless treach-er-y

(Auntie Jane's will, Auntie Jane's will)
Auntie Jane's will, (Auntie Jane's will), you're an angel to me

(Auntie Jane's will, Auntie Jane's will)
Auntie Jane's will, (Auntie Jane's will), you've left it all to me!

Pacing off a bit? Yeh, perhaps a bit. Still, it was afun subject to write about:some sorry gal hope'n and waiting for her old auntie Jane to die so she could inherit her millions. Now, that's worth the wait, don't you think? Eye1
