The Lyrics

(Spoken)
Is it true what they say about him?
Oh, there he is. Let's ask him.
Trent, did you say Strom should have been elected?
Mm-hmm
Gee, you must be some kind of moron
Are you apologizing to someone else today?
Uh-uh
By the way, where'd you meet him?

I met him at Strom's birthday bash
His racist views inspired me
You get the picture? (Yes, we see)
That's when I fell for the Speaker of the House

Yes, folks are always putting him down (down, down)
He says blacks came from the wrong side of town
(What'd he mean when he said that blacks came from the wrong side of town?)
They say that he is bad
But he says he is sad
That's why I fell for the Speaker of the House

One day the House said, find someone new
I had to tell Trent Lott that he's through
(What'da they mean when the House said they'd go find somebody new?)
He stood there and asked me why
But all he could do was lie
I'm sorry they heard you, the Speaker of the House

(Spoken)
He sort of smiled and said, "I'm sorry..."
The tears were beginning to show
As he spoke at Strom's party that night
I begged him, "No, Trent, No!"
But if he heard, I'll never know

Bigot! Bigot! Bigot! Bigot!

He felt so helpless, what could he do?
Now that his political life is through
In Congress, they all stop and stare
He can't hide the tears, but they don't care
I'll never forget him, the Speaker of the House
(Gone..)
The Speaker of the House - now he's gone...
The Speaker of the House - now he's gone...
The Speaker of the House - now he's gone...
The Speaker of the House - now he's gone...

Trent Lott is (for the time being) the Senate Majority Leader. Dennis Hastert is the Speaker of the House.

Even though it was already typed, its best repeating.....Hassert is the speaker, not Lott....Even though I dont like its political view, I thought your parody was funny

You are absolutely correct, both of you. That's what I get for staying up way too late at night writing song parodies...LOL! Thanks for keeping me honest...
