Song Parodies -> "The Ghandi Man"

Original Song Title:

"The Candy Man"

Original Performer:

Sammy Davis Jr.

Parody Song Title:

"The Ghandi Man"

Parody Written by:

Airfarcewon

The Lyrics

Who was one great leader,
Not so long ago
Assassinated and
Became a martyr, don't you know?

The Ghandi Man,
The Ghandi Man was,
The Ghandi Man was,
Cause he strived for peace and love
And changed the world for good

Who believed that strength lived
In the gentle heart
Then fought his foes with kindness,
Preached and teached it as an art?

The Ghandi Man
The Ghandi Man did
The Ghandi Man did
When he strived for peace and love
And changed the world for good

Suffered pain and grief
Such was his belief
Made the loudest sound with silence
Battled with soul-force defiance
Moved a mountain with non-violence..

Who gave India freedom
Fasted days and nights
Stood up for the poor
And then defended all their rights?

The Ghandi Man
The Ghandi Man did
The Ghandi Man did
When he strived for peace and love
And changed the world for good

He changed the world for good..

"...and they asked Gandhi what he thought of Western Civilization. He said, 'I think it would be a wonderful idea'." -Robin Williams

I had some trouble at the beginning, but that's due to subject matter, and it ended up both a sound and well-paced parody.

We looked this over, and we have two complaints: It's "Gandhi", not "Ghandi" or "Gandey" (as Andria spells it). For two, AFW needs to keep this parody out of India or else he will be burned in effigy. P.S.: AFW, I am already spoken for- by another AmIRight member. I could tell that you have a crush on me by your comment on "He Loved Andrew Jackson" where I gave consent to write a song about me. Write a song about me, but don't go any further.- Andria
